Firstly the lyrics of this song are from different tweets of Iranian people during the "woman-life-freedom" movement protests, he infact became the voice of the society by singing this, (he went to jail for a while for that!) , This as somehow a manifest to express why we , Iranians are protesting. Thank you for reacting to this song 🙏 oh, this song also won the special award of Grammy for social change 👌which really deserved it.

Not a single Iranian has heard this song and not shed tears listening to it. Your reaction was very touching for someone who has not lived this Iranian nightmare for the past 44 years. The song tells the story of a nation taken hostage by a savage, brutal and barbaric regime with inhuman and Stone Age ideology. The regime's disregard for life in any form and shape is just mind-boggling. The way they treat (or actually mistreat) women and human beings in general does not belong to our Persian culture and beliefs.
This Grammy-winning song was composed, sang and recorded in three hours. The lyrics were selected from thousands of tweets by the Iranians, giving their reasons FOR (BARAYE) having this revolution, known as “Woman-Life-Freedom”, led by women which is still ongoing. Each line of the lyrics resonates with Iranians especially and has a story known to them behind it. Street demonstrations have subdued due to incredible violence used by regime thugs against the peaceful protestors, but a great majority of Iranians, especially the women, have decided to get rid of this criminal and corrupt gang of murderers. Their everyday actions are very much in defiance of the regime doctrines. Things such as forced hijab. Millions of Iranian women openly walk in the streets without the forced hijab, risking arrest, prison, rape, or even death. Iranian lionesses have made their mind up and are not backing down.
Shervin was arrested after releasing this song and has been under surveillance after his release from prison.
Thank you for your very human reaction, and please be the voice of Iranians and support their cause against the criminal gang ruling their country.
Lets hope I live to see the burial of this babaric and alien to Persian culture ideology and government in Iran, that was imposed on us 44 years ago by the US and the Europeans.

for the sake of pirooz and possibility of extinction of its species ( pirooz was an astatic cheetah cub given the name pirooz meaning victories in Persian because he was the only one in the litter that survived, it was the first time there was a successful birth in captivity. unfortunately pirooz passed away at 10 month old, there only 12 static cheetah alive in Iran. side note: when I was translating this part I break down in tears because at the time of recording the music pirooz was still alive )🎶😢😢😢😢
for the sake of condemned innocent dogs ( in recent years in Iran having dog as a house pet or owning it in general has been banned, even street dogs are killed by acid injection because Iranian government believes owning a dog as pet which is an untouchable animal represent western culture )🎶

because of repeat of this moment ( refers to watching the moment of Ukrainian airplane getting shot down by Iranian regime by father of one of the victims over and over again. side note: I almost started to cry all over again )🎶

1 year ago this song came out and they arrested shervin and any singer or rapper who sanged for freedom. We lost the fight and didn't earn our freedom because we needed other country's help. We all hope for a bright day in iran
