    Excellent to be able to take part in that eco tourism. We all love snorkeling among coral, but we need to protect it for the future generations.

      yes I think that opened our eyes to be extra careful. I don't think I have ever broken coral snorkelling but seeing how easy it is to break and how long it takes to grow I will certainly make it a priority to be extra extra attentive.

    You are going to love Ecuador, my favorite country in South America. The volcanoes are incredible, particularly the big 3 (Chimborazo, Cotopaxi, Cayambe). They can be climbed, but with special equipment. The Galapagos islands are definitely worth a visit if you can leave Albo in Guayaquil for a week. And the food is delicious. Don't miss the ceviche de camarones.

    What a beautiful Caribbean beach and Island, I really love that Caribbean feel🌴🌴🌞. You both constantly outdo yourselves. I snorkeled a lot in the Caribbean Waters in the 1990s and early 2000s. Love that you went there to help revive Coral, very special. If I was young I would do it for free. Just being in those beautiful turquoise Waters is a gift in itself. I almost missed this episode. I saw the thumbnail for days, but for some reason didn't think it was you. Glad I watched. However the water temperature is so high corals are dying very fast. They are turning white off Florida. There is an ecological catastrophe worldwide. I hope people like those in the video have an impact.

      @@NextMeridianExpedition The oceans are very hot this year. They say off Florida it is 100 degrees. I never heard of such a thing. I thought 90 was hot. 4/5 of the planet's heat is stored in the oceans, so the oceans feel global warming first. Scientists also are saying that the Atlantic current may flip soon. If that happens things will happen on a huge scale and you could see global warming on steroids. I'm 74, so I can probably survive my remaining years, but for everyone younger, it will be bad. And, once the oncean current flips, that is not something you can fix. The whole planet would need to cool significantly, glaciers start expanding, etc. Not gonna happen.

      Hi Jorge, we decided to only do a video per week even if it means not going into details on every place we visit. Similarly we are not historians or biologists so the only thing we can talk about with accuracy is our experience crossing those places. We already happy it makes people curious on some of the country and places we cross. That way we prioritize the journey over making the video cause that is still what is the most important for us. Thanks for watching :)

      On that kind of coral it is not too bad. Maybe 50% they mentionned. But what we discussed is that it is both made to grow new corals and to sensitize people not to break more corals. For instance the group uses new boat and boat captain everytime and make sure they don’t anchor on the corals for instance.

      Totally agreeing with what you say. That s why we did not over mention that aspect related to our trip. But we don’t want to minimize the work of the biologists in that area. They are really outdoing themselves to involve everyone and help restore the reef in this region. So it was nice to see how it works and help at our level on this.
      Thanks a lot for watching!

    • @ianmatlock1
      @ianmatlock1 Před rokem

      Interesting, but I don't think they were trying to save the world - just help restore a small section of coral. I personally have no desire to stay at home, grow my own food and live off grid - I'm sure in the UK that would be expensive in any case. I think we should all try to do our best to reduce our negative impacts on the environments when and when we can practically and affordably do.
