- In today's video I discuss the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings first-round matchup as the two teams meet for the THIRD straight season in the first round! The #oilers won in game 7 in 2022 and then knocked off the #kings in game 6 in 2023, but LA is looking to prove that they have taken that next step and will be an extremely tough opponent for Edmonton to deal with. Connor McDavid is rested and looking to lead his team to it's first Stanley Cup Finals appearance since 2006... It's finally time for the playoffs to start. LFG.

I want to say Oilers in 5 based on the pattern (7 in 2022, 6 in 2023) but the Kings are too good for this to be 5 game series. I’ll say Oilers in 6/7.

KINGS fan: surprised with the respect for thinking the Kings win at least 2 games. I personally think the Oilers win in 4 or 5. I hate the 1--3-1 too

Fans don’t like it, rest of nhl doesn’t like it, some of Kings own players don’t really like it, It’s only seems to work to a certain point. Now 2 coach’s still insist on employing it. They always seem like a good aggressive forechecking team until they fall in to that passivity. But hey this is why you play the games, anything can happen, let’s go oil!
We respect the kings they always play us hard. I do think the oilers should take this in 5 but wel see. If this goes to 7 it’s a failure of a series for the oilers Hinestky
We cannot take them lightly! Dont care if we've won the last two series....if Oilers go back to how they were playing during our losing streak, we're in trouble....We want the D that played during the 16 game winning streak, they're quite capable! G O G!!

The last week or so of the season was important and had something to play for... These guys didn't show up for it so I'm not entirely confident going in this time. I'm thinking another 7 game series but hope I'm wrong and they show up for the puck drop. They need to win that first 1 at home.

Off topic sorta, - Look at what Vegas did, Stone and Pieterangelo are back at practice. LTIR magic. BS. Tampa 2.0. This needs to be FIXED. Also, Oil in 5. 6 at most by getting beat by themselves but I think theyve learned.
Oilers in 6. But it's gonna be close. The Oilers are definitely better offensively but also easier to play against. I think the Kings will keep it close but with the Oilers being just so much better offensively and in net. I dont think the defense will hold fo LA

The King's defense is quick but not fast put Connor, McCloud and Holloway high and ice the puck and beat them to the puck at the other end, ice it hard so the goalie can't handle it.

Oilers should advance beyond the Kings...don't think they have the defense or goaltending to go further.

If we pay as poorly as we did the last 6 games of the season we've got 4 games left of the year.
