The funny thing is, people of all ages have always thought that the prophecies in the Bible are about to come true. Jesus expected the end to be imminent, as did Paul after him, as did the writer of Revelations, and so on. There are several interesting books on the study of apocalyptic ideas in the NT. The great thing with vague predictions is that they can be fit to almost anything (and of course other religions - there are several thousand - have their own).

Iran, and Russia and North Korea etc... always show these aerial views of men in uniforms. It reminds me of the days when we presented ourselves as such in the band and the band front. I carried a rifle because I was in the rifle squad. We were all in uniform, no matter whether it was a rifle a flag or an instrument or a drum. We certainly could draw the applause from the people that came to see to see us. This is what Iran and Russia and North Korea do with their men, they put them in uniform and present them to onlookers and everybody feels something when they look at them. What these guys in uniforms can really do is probably not even as much as we did in the band and the band front. They are props only.

Ezekiel 38 has addressed this very war for thousands of years! It will look very bad for Israel for a while. But understand God, Jehovah will not allow Israel to be wiped out. He did in 70 AD under the Roman invasion. The prophecy of Ezekiel is not referring to any modern country it was referring to the Maccabeus rebellion against Antiochus Epiphanies IV and the Seleucid Empire.
