14 Facts About Benjamin Franklin | America's Most Eccentric Founding Father
Vložit
- čas přidán 10. 06. 2024
- Benjamin Franklin was one of America's founding fathers as well as a scientist, statesman, author, printer, activist, postmaster, and diplomat. He is renowned for his discoveries and theories on electricity and is credited with inventing swimming fins, bifocals, the lightning rod, a flexible catheter, and many other inventions we use today.
Franklin was born in 1706, and was a middle child. His parents, who were soap and candle makers, could not afford to send him to school longer than two years so, by the age of 10, young Benjamin began working alongside his father. By the age of 12, he had became his brother James's apprentice at a printing shop. Franklin did not let his lack of access to a formal education prevent him from becoming one of America's most influential and famous figures.

There has been a couple of states never realized that wanted to be called Franklin. Northern California as late as the 2000s there was talk of the northern counties leaving California to form a new state called Franklin, before Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado became states there was state proposed in the center of them to be called Franklin, and Eastern Tennessee wanted to leave the rest of the Tennessee (closest of becoming reality) early 1800s? that wanted to be called Franklin. TODAY, you can drive through eastern part of the state Tennessee and find the "State of Franklin" Banks.
Here in Northern California, we wanted to split off from SoCal and be called JEFFERSON, not Franklin.
Ehhh. No. It’s always been proposed as Jefferson as far back as the 1970’s.
