About Jackson:
Jackson began back in the late 1970s, when heavy music experienced a flamboyant and virtuosic resurgence in popularity and a small Southern California guitar repair shop became the epicenter of a new level of shred-approved excellence. Ever since then, Jackson guitars have been universally lauded as the metal guitars; the shred machines-highly original high-performance instruments of distinctive style and formidable substance. From metal’s chart-topping peaks to its darkest recesses, for discerning guitarists all over the globe, Jackson is the only way to go.

Jeff's just so damn good. Beyond his blazing speed what really stands out is his beautiful phrasing
Legendary Nevermore tune in their very best album. Jeff's a true master when it comes to beautiful phrasing allied with crushing heavy tones.
Jeff is really easy to listen to. Cool teacher. Got to love someone playing a high level Jackson guitar. I used to have a Jackson Flying V, which I never learned how to play. Kept it for 20 years.
>p
When he throws it over the chords - goosebumps!!!!! Saw Nevermore in 2005 with Opeth in Detroit. Fireball Ministry opened on that show at Harpos. It was my first time seeing Nevermore. When Jeff started playing this part on Born (they were supporting The Godless Endeavor) - I was like, is this....god?! What an absolute beast of a riff and what a flawless player!
Haha my friends know who I am referring to, if I say "God" without elaborating. Glad I'm not the only one :D
Saw them on that tour too. When they played the title track and Jeff absolutely smoked that sweeping part of the song I nearly spontaneously combusted.
I also saw them on that tour in Saratoga Springs, NY. Into Eternity opened the show and blew everyone away. Then Nevermore came on and opened their set with Born, and Opeth was touring in support of Ghost Reveries...what a show.
I was also at the Detroit show. Nevermore and Opeth were both amazing. I remember I was really bummed because Into Eternity's bus had broken down and they didn't make the show.
Opeth and Nevermore were both at their peaks on this tour. Amazing show!
Saw them on that tour in Cleveland!!!
Man that is BadAss!!!!!! Im 58 years old and still diggin great rick guitarist!!!!!

Friggin sweet riffage!
🖤
My favorite Loomis riff of all time.
As soon as I heard it the first time, I was like… how can something so catchy, be so heavy and epic? And to this day still one of my favorite riffs. Can’t play it to save my life though 😂
PRAISE BE TO LORD LOOMIS 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is the riff that solidified his guitar god status.
Por fin podré verlo en vivo!!!! Vendrá a mi ciudad en noviembre!!!! No puedo esperar más yeahhhh
One of the greatest riffs EVER!!!!
That whole song is 🤯
@@BA99253 AGREED!!!
The chorus riff and the "yodeling" riff are SO FUCKING TASTY!!
Super dynamic, and the rhythm for the latter is so heavy - still not tired of it after listening to the song for 11 years
Word! Perfect riff, pure excellence!
Sweet riff.
Nevermore is at the peak as far as metal bands go.
A travesty that they did not get more popular in the age of nu-metal and metalcore.
A band that could write all kinds of songs from The Politics of Ecstasy and Seed Awakening to Sell My Heart For Stone, The Heart Collector and A Future Uncertain.
Still my 2nd favourite band 11 years after discovering them!
One of the greatest riffs ever. Puts a huge smile on my face every time I hear it!

And the crazy thing is, there’s 2 equally perfect riffs on the same song (“The pigs order us to follow..”) & the ‘yodeling’ riff!

As great as Jeff is in Arch Enemy it's really cool to still see Nevermore get appreciated like this.
Also, looks like he's has slimmed down a bit? I remember that he mentioned trying to lose some weight in his Coffee With Ola, so congrats Jeff and well done!

Genius!!
Major talent here...
One of my top favorite Nevermore songs, and that riff has always moved me!! We need mor Loomis creations in this World!

His skill in just in his hair. Watch how his split ends just continuously caresses the strings as he plays it in full time. The lifeblood of Zeus rests in his roots.
What a great man, dude, guitarist and human being you are Jeff. Guitarist and man like you are born once in century, greatest respect to you and your work and legacy bro 🤘👏👏👏
Chuck vibes all over the place.. youre fuking great
I love how Jeff Loomis seems like such a nice guy talking to the camera, but then goes full brutal metal face when he plays; next level talent.

Dear Jeff, we the fans urge you to regroup Nevermore again. Just pick up the phone and call the boys together (Van, Jim, Chris) and give Joseph Micheal a chance on the mic. He has done justice to the legacy of Warrel with Sanctuary, its worth a try! I can't believe we'll never hear or see the Nevermore classics live again. that's just too sad! Since Nevermore started I was on every tour when you played in Germany, we have meet serval times pre show's, and you guys have signed all my Nevermore stuff when i was at the Zeche in Bochum when you recorded the Year of the Voyager DVD in Bochum! (Killer show!) We the fans miss N E V E R M O R E ! ! !
Maybe consider having two singers. Male and female kinda like King Diamond is doing nowadays. Or just borrow the singer in your other band, Arch Enemy.

Hi very nice today I'm well and thank you so much.....
The confidence he has when playing every note is amazing. Jeff is an incredible guitar player.
He deserves so much more than just being the 2nd guitarist in Arch Enemy. Really miss the good old Nevermore times...:-(
absolutely!
I fucking love arch enemy and even i can say jeffs talents are wasted he can write so many good riifs and amazing solos but hearing his stiff in arch enemy feels like he's holding back
@@bojangles4704 truuuuue
Musically speaking I completely agree. Financially tho, deserves to be in a band where he can make a proper living which is what Arch Enemy is
@@joshkuhnmusic Yep, I’m with you!
That Nevermore album is insanely underappreciated.

You know when a riff, melody or solo is great when you play it slowly and still sounds amazing. Jeff playing it slowly made it sound even better in my opinion.

Amazing
This song hooked me to Nevermore
I miss Nevermore so damn much...
Nothing is sacred...
This is the riffage that made me a Nevermore and Jeff Loomis fan. I wish I came up with this riff. I’ll find a way to steal it…
Sounds like he stole it from Paul Gilbert 🥸
Oh no now I got to go buy a Jackson guitar. Merry Christmas.lol.
This was a treat! Nevermore was an excellent band and vehicle for both Jeff's writing and playing.

Warrel's melody on top of this riff is out of this world... One of my favorites... Intense!!!
I saw Nevermore in 2005 with Fear Factory and Megadeth. They were incredible. So sad that Warrell Dane is gone and the band is inactive. They were truly great because not only were they incredible musicians, but they wrote great songs as well.
Just ordered the Loomis signature. Can’t wait to see and play that beauty!
My favourite riff of Jeff Loomis always be the sweeping madness in the song This Godless Endeavor at about 7 minutes in. I had to listen to it over and over because my brain couldn't comprehend what was actually happening.
The river dragon is mind blowing and makes you do the head banging boogie.
Amazing, beautiful stuff

BADASSSSSSSSSS.........
I remember hearing that song for the first time. I was blown away and immediately bought the album.
Hey, it's Jeff Loomis!!!! My favorite guitarist ever (I am a drummer what do I know). I'd put this guy vs anyone on earth.
MAB , buckethead and Paul Gilbert all crush him
Jeff is King!!!
The main reason why I wanted schecter guitars. I was sad when we went to Jackson lol
Love from India 🇮🇳
LOVE IT JEFF!!!! You rock brother!!! This Godless Endeavor is such an incredible Nevermore album! :-)
Hell yeah happy thanksgiving Jeff
Super Cool
Born was literally the song that got me to finally give Nevermore a shot. Jeff has killer riffs for days. I'm so glad I gave them a chance
It's unfair that Jeff Loomis isn't a household name in the guitar universe... I always bring him up when talking casual guitar talk and people don't even know his name.. this is a nationwide problem that must be addressed.
A lot of the true masters of the instrument are unknown names in the "casual realm". I actually heard someone say just a few weeks back that there was a new guitarist on the scene called Guthrie... I nearly jumped out of the window. There are so many examples.
I found him because of Ola and have since been a fan of his. But tbf prior to watching Ola Englunds videos I didn't even play my guitar much. I decided to get serious and learn it for real and have been discovering lots of household names since then due to immersing myself.
@@CoreyjGrieve Right? Guthrie has been a monster since before I got interested in playing the guitar haha
Agreed even from overseas
I have the same issue when I try to bring up Paul Gilbert. Dude is such a shredder and seems like a very cool guy too
one of the best nevermore riffs.

Keep the 80's hair Jeff! I love it!Love those riffs u rock! Awesome!
One of my favorite songs from Nevermore! I turned my kids into Nevermore fans, with your help Jeff. Bad ass riff and guitar!
HELL🤘A SICK
Looking good Jeff, wish I had that confidence on my right hand, it digs the strings with such power, machine-like precision. You can tell the amount of practice those hands received. Masterful
He uses a thick sharp pick that does a lot of the work on the aggressive pick attack. You can look up his signature pick, the Dunlop Tortex Sharp 1.5mm or 2mm picks, or the Ernie Ball Prodigy picks (my personal favorite for the aggressive bevel). It also helps getting a the clarity out of your sweep picking a little more, you pick up the passing notes a little bit more clearly. Or maybe I was just getting better at sweeping when I discovered them...

THIS. Just made me want to pick up my guitar. Thanks Jeff. You're incredible.
The first "tail" alone (1:57) can almost move me to tears, 11 years after first hearing it. One of my all-time favourite songs.
I so hope he'll make a third solo album or a second Conquering Dystopia album with Keith, if Arch Enemy (Michael Ammott) still doesn't want to let him contribute.
My favourite guitarist, just slightly ahead of Chuck Schuldiner, John Petrucci, Alex Skolnick and Muhammed Suicmez!
Nobody dared to push the dislike button after seeing that right hand precision..
Wohl mit einer der sympathischtesten und besten Gitarristen dieses Universums.
Holy shit that is sick.
Beautiful , I want a play with you 😀🤔
This man doesn’t age, except for his playing- which somehow only gets better
I know it's a cover song but temptation from their last album is just simply talent on loan from God. You won't ever see it performed anywhere unless it is here. Please, please with sugar on top. Play the f-ing song for all of us who adore you.
I can’t find it anywhere, is it on an album somewhere?

Jackson still remains the King of Metal !! 🇺🇸 Awesome playing Jeff!!! Thought of Mr. Loomis watching “Finch” with Tom Hanks last nite. Watch it and you’ll understand why 🤖 Jeff
Thanks, SpaceAceTX! Appreciate the love. 🤘
Love my USA RR1 with extra wide 3” DiMarzio clip-lock strap 🇺🇸 Highly recommend DiMarzio straps . . it will never let her fall, thereby avoiding a heart attack, Ha👍🏻😃
No rhyme or reason for why certain guitars sound good. I've heard terrible guitars from top name manufacturers like Gibson and Ibanez and great guitars that are basically partscasters, and vice-versa. It's all very hit or miss. That's why I never buy online. And it's funny in a way because ultimately it comes down to the only parts of the guitar that are in contact with the strings (nut, frets, bridge) and the pickups. The rest is in the hands of the player. All that tonewood bullshit is just that. Looks pretty, but has no impact on tone. I've been building guitars for 30+ years and I've seen literally dozens of "shootouts" of this wood vs that wood. Makes no difference. Try before you buy.
oiro
@@rbilleaud “Try before you buy” it’s good advice I have bought guitars simply for the name when I was making extremely good money in the oil refinery. Those 4 USA, 2 Japanese guitars now sit in cases under my bed. Don’t get me wrong, they’re very well-built, it’s my fault for not spending more time with them before buying.
Amazingly enough the guitar I play 95% of the time is the only budget guitar I own . . a Kramer Baretta Special for $179. The smooth maple neck (which is a tad thicker than an Ibanez Prestige) Feels like someone took measurements of my hand and a skilled luthier custom cut to fit my hand specifically. I did a few little comparisons like the sustain compared to a $3400 Les Paul, believe it or not the Kramer meets or exceeded the tone and sustain of the Gibson!
was not surprised when I saw in Guitar World magazine & Guitar Player magazine the Baretta Special won “Editors choice” and “Best budget guitar” respectively 👍🏻😃 I find it hilarious and I bit sad when I see people doing upgrades the minute they buy this guitar on CZcams. The first thing they do is swap out the pickup which might just be one of the best I’ve heard, even compared to my Seymour Duncan‘s, DiMarzio’s, hand wound Fender Custom shop Fat 50’s and EMGs!!
Respect
