  • In this video I take the Fiesta for new camshafts, a custom rolling road remap and perform a back to back comparison to show the effect of the mods. Quite strong gains - well worth a look... there aren't many videos out there showing the effect of Newman Phase 2 Cams.
    Thanks to Ben at Jamsport for being patient and letting me take a few videos during the visit.
    On the way back to Hengineer HQ, I stop by at Caffeine & Machine for a cuppa and to see what's going on.
    All spirited driving performed on private land, in Mexico.

    I’ll always have a soft spot for these cars. I had a mk6 with the MP185 tune from mountune on it and it sung it heart out. Also had some lumpy idle due to the cams. Loved it.

      It's great fun and a nostalgic step back in time to a time when you didn't need 400bhp from a hatchback. Analogue thrills for beer money compared to a near £30k ST today.

      @@hengineer1 without a doubt. New cars are a waste nowadays and no one is going to invest any fun into them especially when they will never own them.

    Thinking about doing this to my st150 but I’d want to fit the cams myself 👍

    Had mine for almost 5 years now, great car but think ill be putting it up for sale soon, fancy something with a turbo and its a bit too costly to boost these engine reliably

      They've shot up, there was an 06 performance blue one with 108 thou, usual dings stone chips etc, on a pitch near me, £4695 and they sold it quick.

    Are they phase 2 cams? I've got an ST150 with a full Milltek - Evo 2 manifold, sports cat and non-resonated cat-back, an itg induction kit and a remap done at Avon Tuning. It's lowered 35mm on Eibach springs, Vibra-Technics engine mounts and it's the same colour as yours... I'm pondering on fitting some phase 2 Newman camshafts and getting it booked in for another remap but I'm worried about loosing any low-end power when its sitting at say around 2000-2500rpm.
    Do you think the power gains were worth it? At what RPM roughly would you say it starts pulling harder than before? Cheers for the video.

    How much do they charge for doing the cams and map?

  • @MrKapaV
    @MrKapaV Před 11 měsíci

    190 crank horsepower or wheel?
    They advertise that those cams can produce up to 220 crank

    • @hengineer1
      @hengineer1  Před 11 měsíci +2

      There's no way this setup will do 220hp at the crank/fly without a lot more modifications, high compression pistons, rods, flowed head, silly revs etc... Have a look around on the forums, you might see claims between 185 and 200bhp depending on rollers, conditon of engine, fuels etc...

    Hi brother. Do you think that the fiesta 1.4L duratec can get stage 2 camshafts?

    • @hengineer1
      @hengineer1  Před rokem +1

      I don't think 2.0 Duratec cams will be compatible. There aren't a lot of parts for the 1.4 - I would save the money and put it towards an ST instead.

  • @oluskloc
    @oluskloc Před rokem

    Why limiter on 7500rpm? it looks like it can do some more rev like 8000 as still making around max power

    • @hengineer1
      @hengineer1  Před rokem +2

      On standard springs and rod bolts I dont think I want to chance it. Things get floaty around 7800rpm on these Duratecs. Hoping to keep this one going a bit longer!
