I recently had some Standard 8mm cine film from 1957 in to be transferred to digital. They had very light mildew on them, so I had to clean them; here is a short video of how I do that.
I have been working with cine film almost all my life and still enjoying being able to transfer it to digital and DVD for people to share with their loved ones.

Thank you for this video. Any chance you could let us know where to buy Butler's film cleaner? I can't find it on either Amazon or eBay... I'm guessing there's a specialist source?
It's been a while since I needed to buy some, but if you search for cine film cleaner, you can find some. Butlers is just the last brand I bought.
@@AarchiveRailways Thank you! I'll keep looking. One slight issue is that if you type "cine film cleaner" into a shopping site and it's not been cleverly coded, it tends to get all excited about products for cleaning oil films off cars :)
You make a video about cleaning 8mm film but you don´t give the name of the cleaning liquid. There is a big part missing to have your films cleaned without the cleaner´s name.

It is a special film cleaning solution. You can find it from certain outlets online.
