The wait times are worse in the summer with kids because they're out of school. Ask the receptionist what days are their slower days and times. Some will tell you. If it's a good doctor, they may have longer times bc they really have a lot of patients.

I’m a peds clinic nurse. The best doctors will have a wait time. It’s not because they over scheduled pts. It’s because they’re actually throughly taking care of each pt’s needs. The peds doctors that I’ve worked for that were on time rushed their pts, didn’t full listen to their needs, didn’t fully address their needs and truly don’t gaf about their pts. They often refused to fill out prior authorization for much needed medicine or treatments because they’re lazy. Trust me I’ve been a peds nurse for over 10 yrs. I tell my pts either you’re going to wait for perfection or be seen quickly with many imperfections. One mom didn’t want to wait for the so-called slow doctor and raised hell to be seen by the quick doctor. Well she learned a valuable lesson. The quick doctor was so fast that he blatantly missed the pt’s cancer diagnosis. The slow doctor cared enough to stay late and review the pt’s (her usual pt) file before she left the office. Her through examination caught the kid had cancer. Them parents came back and tearfully apologized to her because she saved their child’s life.
