As someone who loved Charizard for years. Enough to never change my opinion on him even when people say its overrated. To create Ultra Charizard in my own Pokemon Journey when I was a kid, of which the adventure continues even to this day. This video brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for making this.

This baby charmander grew and became one of the best in history.

I honestly like the movie's Ash/Charizard handling a lot more than canon. To this day, I think the original's disobedience plot was unnecessary and bad writing, even if Ash wasn't perfect. Ash literally saved Charmander and would do anything for him. Charizard's respect should've stayed strong all along, and the movie delivered on that.

Troy Oliver Charmander was abandoned, it'e actually good writing for it to evolve into something more untrusting. When a kid is adopted or abandoned or abused, they can first be fine, but when they grow into a teenager, they can have issues, especially with trust. It's very similar actually. You can say you don't like that arc, but don't say it's bad writing if you don't understand it lmao
@@Anonymous-ve7pi true but even those who grew up can tell the difference between the way it was treated by the abuser and by someone who helped them get out of that situation. and no not everyone who was abused turn into people like charizard from the old series. most kids will realize the love and not turn into jerks.Like i said before it was cuz the writers want to show evolution as a metaphor for growing up. they stop that for the island series cuz it made no sense cuz ash really cared for charizard.
Two different Pokemon; the first one was the Indigo League series which didn’t obey Ash initially; the other is from a later series.
