How To Know Good Quality Clothes

  • In this video series I interview different fashion designers to discuss what high quality fabrics, construction and garment quality really is. I wanted to make this series because luxury fashion is on the rise but I think these brands have been getting away with selling subpar products because consumers are not educated on what quality they should be expecting after buying an expensive clothing item, bag, pair of shoes & more.
In this episode i interview a self taught Australian fashion designer who creates bespoke designs for his clients. His experience working with all the different fabrics and clothing that his clients bring in to his studio has built a knowledge base that i'd love to question him about.

I'm obsessed with this video series. It seems like a lot of work to do, but it's worth it: the quality is AMAZING, and the info is very usefull

I laughed out loud at 15:04. Right when I'm the most fascinated, he says "boring information, but…"! Love this series so far, not only that you're giving space to these young designers to show off their work but to create moments like that where people can just be super nerdy/shy/charming about their process. Felt like Episode had a similar moment with Yaku talking about his siblings, can't wait for the next episode!

To reduce fabric waste, you can make a well fitting garment and use leftover fabric for pockets.

Which begs the question of why women clothes has NO pockets?!

      @@DoraWinifredIt's to sell us bags.
Mini bags of lesser quality to be more precise, so we buy even more things in the end.
Fashion companies have to keep the customer in the consuming loop. Who cares about quality and legacy ?🥲

@@DoraWinifredthink it increases the chance of you all buying purses & accessories further boosting the market. If you buy more purses you’ll buy more accessories which boosts the market for beauty.

What is up with all the random non contributing non constructive negative comments ?!? It's almost as if people take issue with young designers and completely reject the overall topic under which the series presented.

It’s so annoying honestly, and it happens all the time. I’ve learnt to just understand that I make these videos for those that will see the value in them.

I stopped taking this brands seriously when they started over pricing their products made in China.. even Chinese customer never spend money on products made in their countries. Bape trainers (knock off Air force One) is now retailing for almost £400 and its made in china. Fashion brands sell their products now based on Hype

If a piece of clothing isn't intended to be sheer or transparent, it shouldn't be see through at all.

Not all things made in China are of low quality. Top brands like Apple, BMW, Tesla, Volvo, even Chanel are now made in China, in case one doesn’t already know. Why made them in Europe or USA when China makes them just as good if not better sometimes, at one fifth the cost and five times the speed?

Guy doesn’t seem like he will go far, very much inspired by just other fashion designers instead of architecture or film etc., nothing new to the table, nothing to say, not overly educated in the field, boxy tops and wide pants 👍
