Here are two traditional tunes from Faroe Islands and Norway. The first is an old ballad called Regin Smidur. It's a part of the trilogy Sjúrðarkvæðini also known as the Nibelungen Lied as it is based on the same material as Wagner uses for his opera cycle. The three ballads has a total of 642 vers!
The second tune is a waltz written by Norwegian fiddler Germund Haugen around 100 years ago.
    Arr.: Danish String Quartet
    Recorded at Litteraturhaus, Copenhagen 2021

Beautiful, as always! And while brilliantly reflective of the season and the mood, these pieces and performance are also transporting, somehow. Congratulations! Final (unnecessary) note: I'm glad to see that everyone's hair is "back to normal." Which is to say, "outstanding!" Sending special thanks for this winter treat.
