Fun fact: Wicca Phase Springs Eternal was one of the members of Pennsylvania emo band, Tigers Jaw. Not sure if he was the frontman.
He was a vocalist and guitarist, they had multiple of each but you could prolly call him the lead vocalist

It’s strange you guys know and love TJ, I thought the extent of their fame WAS in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania emo hits different man, I love the bands that come out of my state. Very gritty but very melodic, similar to Midwestern emo but with a little more edge.

This song cuts deep for me but unfortunately I was the one who was burying my reservations and upholding a false reality for longer than I should have. I was "absolute in doubt" as one might put it, and that bled into the relationship

It would be awesome if you reacted to more wicca phase springs eternal, both his old and new music are great. He was an early pioneer of witch house (Outside yr WIndow is a great example) and started/owns the GBC collective. the 80's electronic observation is really astute, pictureplane influence I would guess.
his name doesn't mean anything, he has told the story before that he sent some of the music to a friend and she recommended the name, I think they met on tumblr but I am not sure about that part. its often abbreviated as wpse or people just say wicca phase #wiccaphasetaskforce

The story goes that he left the band Tigers Jaw to make a more electronic project and didn’t know what to name it so he messaged an artist he liked on tumblr asking for a name sending some of the music and the artist replied one thing “Wicca Phase Springs Eternal” and hes run with it since
