2010 Dodge Challenger GTX project final walk around.

- This is the final video in this series where I took a crashed 2010 Dodge Challenger R/T , repaired the crash damage then rebuilt the body as a custom concept car of what a GTX might look like if they produced one today. I based the build on artwork by Doug Schramm who hit the design spot on. I only wish I had more time, money and especially energy as I would love to be able to do more projects like this.
Beautiful job! The Dodge boys need to take a look at this and consider putting it into production. Let's face it, the current Challenger body is getting stale, and it's been around for a long time with just subtle changes. Bring back the GTX!
I wish we could vote on it.
WOW! 1800 hours of work has paid off in a BEAUTIFUL build! I love the Daytona build and this one is just as AWESOME! Great job Steve!
Thanks mj. You never know how these things will turn out.
Great job Steve! It’s been fascinating to watch all the way through. Truly a piece of art. Thank you for sharing your journey with all of us.
Thanks for watching
Wish I was faster but I am getting old.😂
You are welcome Ken
The ‘71 Road Runner/GTX is my all time favorite muscle car since I was a kid. And you, sir, have paid tribute in the highest way possible. You are a master craftsman and a magician. If you ever build more, I may have to raid the kids’ college fund. Salute 🍻
Amazing you did that in 1800 hours. My eye never caught anything weird, perfect mix of old and new, especially when you shut the door! Bravo. True craftsman with an Artist's eye.
Thanks. Chrysler did the heavy lifting on this one. I just changed the window dressing.
Just like the Daytona clone, absolutely GORGEOUS work. Beautiful job! I really admire your work. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
Thanks Ryan
Nice! The problem with (you spoke of) "quicky turn arounds," is they look like quicky turn arounds. This? This is absolutely gorgeous! Truly a beautiful rendition. WELL DONE! God bless.
Thanks Lou
A restoration is one thing, but this is much different. All the planning, problem solving, and creating parts to make this work is quite impressive. It can all go wrong on so many levels but this is a well proportioned car that looks right. Nicely done
It was touch and go all the way through. Thanks.
Just found this build a week ago what a fantastic job .looks spot on .no funny angles or lines that just don't fit . again absolutely fantastic.
Thanks Scott
Pleased isn't the word I'd use- I'd say your chest ought to be positively bursting with pride right now! This is an absolutely gorgeous Mopar!
Thanks. I appreciate the compliment.
Congratulations. Car looks amazing from every angle. Color and blacked out panels are a great match. Thank you for taking us along for the ride!
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Looks great. Been a long road. Thanks for taking us along on the journey. As the former owner of a '71 RR this was of special significance to me. Had a good idea that orange with the white interior would be a killer!
Thanks for taking the time to follow my progress Doug.
Congrats on a great build Steve. Looks absolutely beautiful in the bright Sun. You surely did an awesome job on this build. The GTX was always a favorite body style of mine and you surely captured it. I believe you'll hate seeing it go. Looking forward to your next build and hope it's another Mopar..
Thanks Don. It will be. A fellow out of Alabama wants a 68 Charger on a 392 2011 Challenger.
@@SteveMirabelli That's great. The 68 was always my favorite Charger. Hope to follow you to the end of the build.
Awesome build brother! The color really pops!!!! 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks man.
@@SteveMirabelli 👍🏻
B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L car and fantastic build, Steve :) ! Can't imagine that it could be any nicer ! GREAT JOB ! Take care, God bless, and Merry Christmas !!!
Thanks and Merry Christmas to you Bobby.
Stunning. Looks like it rolled off the assembly line, Steve.
Thanks Dave. That is what I was aiming for.
Just one of a few beautiful automobiles to roll out of that shop.
I am pretty proud of this one. I seriously thought it would get more attention. Better luck next time.
Steve Beautiful all I can say is you are a Car builder worth watching all the way through
Thanks Bruce. It takes patience on your part to see it through to the end and I appreciate it.
Looks amazing man, been watching this project since day one. Congratulations on finishing the build. I love your work
Thanks Thomas.
This is a beautiful build. I wish I could take it for a spin.
Thanks. Already gone to a new owner so I don't even get to drive it.
I thoroughly enjoyed every video, Steve. Don’t forget the many extra hours you put into your videos so we could feel like part of the action. Very much appreciated! I hope you start another project soon, and I hope you have it in you to document it for us once again. Until then, kudos and thanks.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Hopefully I will be working on something new at the start of the new year.
As a subscriber, I’ll be notified as soon as you start something new.
Thank you Steve for sharing this with us. She’s beautiful and I’ve truly enjoyed watching all of your videos on the progress of this project. You have mad skills and I can’t wait to see what’s next. Understanding that you built this for a customer, will there be an opportunity for the public to see her in the future?
Thanks and I don't have a clue if the owner will show it or flip it.
Holy Cow! It looks so awesome! And I was wrong, the white seat and accents works exceptionally well with the orange and black. Like everybody else, thanks so much for sharing the journey. Enjoy the holidays!
Thank you. I was skeptical of the white seats but that's what the new owner wanted and they look great.
I have. Made many comments to you during your Daytona build, and this build,I never tire of your attitude and work ethic.
As a retired R and D engineer for GM, I wish I had had a person such as yourself working with me during my time at the company.
Thank you sir for sharing your skills and personality with others!
I greatly look forward to your next project, and hopefully I will get to meet you personally next year if possible.
You are an inspiration to young and old alike.
Wish I had had a chance to work for you Ray. As it was I worked a series of jobs where they could not care less what I could do and I am retired now and free to do what I want. The world wants what it wants. Just the way it is. Thank you for your complimentary comments. They are much appreciated coming from a man of your accomplishments.
Truly stunning, I’d kill to get a Challenger like this
Well done! 😁👍
Thanks man.
Merry Christmas Steve & all the guys watching this.
That car looks fantastic. The sun is where that paint needs to be for sure. I love the way that rear wheel sits inside that quarter - made for it. What a cool ride, Steve.
Y'know... if possible, a detail walk-around video like you did once the daytona was done would fit the end of this build really nicely.
Just saying.
Well thanks. The Daytona did not have the complete build video library this had. I think I would be repeating myself. Thanks again.
@@SteveMirabelli Right. I guess I really just want to see more of the car now that it's finished.
Thing is badass, awesome job from start to finish. Can’t wait to see the next project
Thanks for following along.
Beautiful! Came out perfect! It takes a ton of skill to start a project like this, but it takes far more skill to see it all the way through. Not many people could have built this car. Congrats!
Thanks Christopher. Finishing it up is the hardest part.
That’s incredible! I’m glad it turned out so amazing! Im sure the customer is going to be very happy!
Thanks Gavin.
This was my old car. I have every curve memorized, and you absolutely nailed it.
I just came across a small still picture of this online, and thought for sure it was just a CGI render.
I'm a big fan of metal fabricating and traditional sculpture, but don't have the mean$ to do it myself.
Seeing your work is inspiring.
One thing I absolutely love about this car is the stance.
Dodge really blew the proportions on the Challenger by making it too stretched in height at the door line. You have the proportions just right.
In fact, I haven't watched every single video you have on this, but I had guessed that you chopped and sectioned body panels from an original '71 - '72 SS/RR/GTX and grafted them on.
I skipped a video or two and just saw that instead you are using the stock body panels , and just trimming and cutting to get the look.
To see that you even capture the correct angle in the reflections around the side window is extremely impressive ( The way that reflections curve in the area just below the side glass where the fender flares out )
You certainly have an artist's eye.
I kept looking at the picture of your car and was trying to figure out what I was looking at.
I wasn't sure what was old and what was new ( And am floored to find out it's all new! )
I can't say enough just how impressed I am with your work.
I hope you get the credit you deserve on this. Chrysler design studio would love to see your work.
Thanks for the long and thought out assessment of the build. I appreciate it. The design is an old one by an artist named Doug Schramm and could be found on the internet since 2009 when he rendered this car in blue with a different hood. I just tried to build it as faithfully to the rendering as I could. He is the one that laid out the proportions.
Absolutely gorgeous from every angle Steve! Great work, I can’t wait to see what’s coming up next!
Thanks Matt. I will tell you. A 68 Charger on a 392 2011 Challenger.
@@SteveMirabelli Nice!!!
Really nice job and your attention to detail is unbelievable. Congratulations.
Thanks. It was a fun build.
I just have to say, I always looked forward to your videos. I followed this project from the beginning and could not believe the knowledge and craftsmanship you possess. The car turned out AMAZING! If you start another project in the future, I will be watching every single video! Thanks for bringing us along for the ride Steve.
Thanks for having an interest. Hopefully the new year will bring the start of my next effort.
watched every episode, and I usually don't comment but had to on this one! Absolutely amazing work sir.
Thanks. Looks like you are a pro so double thanks.
This thing has to be the most beautiful 'new' Challenger i've ever seen in my life! Really makes you think if Plymouth was still around, that this would be what they would sell alongside the Challenger! I really hope this girl went to a good home, with all of the work you put into it she absolutely deserves it!
Thanks. It is in Minnesota now and kept nice and warm in a man cave next to the pool table when it is not at the car shows.
@@SteveMirabelli Daaang, now that's a true car guy right there! I'm glad to hear it!
I had to get a new phone, and I lost my subscribed status, and I couldn't find your channel. My son sent me the link and I just binge watched the last 20 or so episodes. Totally awesome. The hood details came out perfect. The whole car is truly stunning, but I'd be too scared to drive it for fear of some rubber-necker running into me.
I don't need to worry about that. It has been sold since January and just sold again.
Like I said before Steve you are truly an artist I have always owned and lived Mopars. Great job!
Thank you Anthony.
An absolute stunning build! Enjoyed every episode. Thank you for taking us along for the journey Steve! What’s next?
Thanks. A 68 Charger over a 2011 392 Challenger.
@@SteveMirabelli Awesome!….Can’t wait!
Wow Steve! I've followed this since day one & you've done a magnificent job, sir.
Thanks Mark.
Speechless, a world class effort generated a beaut like this.Great job,
11 out of 10, congratulations!
Thank you so much James.
Great job,a true artist..the car looks stunning..it was nice following your journey…
Thanks Bryan.
This is my favourite modern build. You’re very talented.
Thank you Amber. I have seen your photographic creations. You are pretty talented yourself.
Hi Steve. I am at the Maple Lake , Minnesota show looking at this car right now. Absolutely awesome work!
Thanks Leon. It keeps popping up here and there. Nice to see the owner likes it enough to get it out there.
Wow 🤩, that is incredible. Congats on a successful build ! Thanks for sharing. 🇨🇦
Thank you John.
Looks excellent!! ..I wasn't on S.S or Medicare when this job started
Neither was I🤣
Bravo Steve! you should be proud!! Can’t wait to see what you do next!?
Thanks Chaz.
Looks fantastic! So good to see this project finished.
Feels good to finish. Thanks.
Steve that came out beautiful to nice to drive thanks for the great videos
Thank you for watching Matthew.
I haven't comment I think, but I watched all 25 of Rt conversion and now this. You do some great work my 2005 Magnum I love it . I'm now a Dodge guy for sure. Your very creative I like thus car a lot nice job all the way around and inside.
I subscribed the 1st video I saw was #25 then q3nt back qnd wqtches the rest very cool lots of details well thoughts out solutions drew me attention good lucky

Car looks great! Can't wait to see it with the daytona at carlisle next year.
It is sold so that likely will not happen.
Absolutely stunning! hats off to you and your skills!!!
Thanks Dan.
Thank for sharing the journey. Inspiring work.
Thanks for your interest Andre.
Amazing build! What a masterpiece!
Thank you.
Another true masterpiece, Steve! Congrats!!!
Thanks man.
Mopar needs to bring this style into production!!!
They are busy deciding what kind of electric cars to build.
@@SteveMirabelli yeah lol 😆 they out they minds if they think a real mopar man will ever buy a electric turd with no soul!!
Good job Steve 🍾🎉😍✌👍
Thanks Duff.
It looks great, hopefully you will enjoy driving it, it is a really nice car that needs to be driven so others can see it 👍
I will for a little bit until the new owner picks it up.
@@SteveMirabelli oh, you built it for someone else, well you did really good job
Man Steve that thing came out great. Wish Chrysler would take a hint from you and build a modern version of the 71/72 road runner / gtx
Thanks Chad but not holding my breath
Truly magnificent, your skills are amazing, great job Steve. I can't wait to see what's next!
Thanks David.
Gorgeous paint
Thanks Jamie.
Amazing build,well done!
Thank you.
Incredible build man!
Thanks Jay.
AMAZING job! I would be scared to death to drive that tbh. How do you even begin to put a value on something like this for insurance. There are far to many idiots on the roads lol! I am in AWE of the job you did on this and the Daytona! I just want to look at it over and over. You could charge admission for people like me to look at! Just AMAZING!
🤣I feel the same way. Just leave it sit but cars are made for driving so off we go.
Absolutely gorgeous car!
Thanks
I have been enjoying your progress on your GTX project for some time now & I just wanted to say you nailed the style of those old Plymouth's extremely well! You should be proud my friend, outstanding craftsmanship!
Thanks Vinnie. Hard to say if these things will work out.
Wow, the color is amazing! Truly another work of art, well done! It doesn’t seem like 4 years…
Thanks Dave. Yeah you are right. It seems more like 10.
A stunner, turned out just perfect. I don't know how you give that car up, now. Great work, inspirational. If I were seeing this car for the first time, I'd have a million questions. Your filmed progress answered them all and really just satisfies and amazes. Congrats.
Glad you enjoyed the journey.
This is soooooo awesome!!! Great work!
Thanks Ramona. See what happens when your mom makes you make stuff out of walnut shells and cloths pin when you're a kid.
Wow ! Bloody beauty mate!
Thanks Andrew.
Looks great Steve you are the master!
Thabks again Joseph.
Unfortunately, FCA has killed the mopar culture nowadays. There really is no substitute for the classic Americans. A truly beautiful master piece. I wish we could see the new productions of these legendary models.
Don't we all. Cars are appliances these days. Just jelly beans.
Congratulations Steve, Thanks for taking us with you for the ride. Can't wait to see what your planning next. Merry Christmas.
Thank you Kiffer.
Wow this is amazing! Great job!!
Thanks. I appreciate the compliment.
Love love love it! The definition of cool!
Thanks Ken.

It was a pleasure to witness this build! What are your plans for this GTX?

God, doing this is amazing very hard work...
Thanks. It was definitely a challenge.
Stunning simply stunning
Thanks again Doug. Not blowing smoke when I say I couldn't have done it without your vision.
@@SteveMirabelli Thank you Steve. I never thought anyone would bother with my GTX design and you nailed it. When i first saw the challenger show car I came up with this design and I was very surprised to find someone had taken it on.
Beautiful car!
Thanks. It was a fun build.
WOW wow wow. Amazing build. Gonna make more parts to sell to do this conversion?
Wish I had the means Scott.
Priceless Beauty!
Thank you Jim.
Incredible!😲
Thanks Mark. Only wish I was bringing it to Carlisle.

I'm going to miss your videos. take some time off, and then please do another project. Oh you need to do a video of the shakedown also.
Can't walk and chew gum let alone film and drive Steve but I do have another project lined up. This time it's a customer car from t he start.
Great work, I do a bit of fab work myself and know how hard it is, I love your reason for doing it...just to see if you can!!
Absolutely. Bringing something from imagination to the real world is super gratifying if only for a brief moment.
