Kevin Ryo torreira has shown nothing to suggest that he is useful in that transition. He doesn’t have the passing range or dribbling ability (good in tight spaces but can’t carry the ball forward) to do so. He is a decent DM though who can definitely improve alongside Partey

@Mohamed Anoof he’s like Vieira, not as good obviously, but he is a very good player. He’s not a DM, neither was Vieira. They are box to box midfielders.

Now thats a very big statement based on imagination, not reality. Petit, vieira and Song were all much more composed on the ball and had better touch. They wouldnt put bad passes. This guy, not so sure.

Worked on a project with Atletico last year where I had to scour through 3 years of Atletico game footage. Arsenal fans will be surprised how good this guy is. He is a rare breed as a holding midfielder. He breaks up play brilliantly, he is fantastic in possession and has all the intangibles. I thought he was Atletico’s best player for real... just completely overlooked cause he played in the middle with Saul and Koke (who are Spanish and adored at home). This guy is special, he’s gonna own the center of the pitch. Excited to see it.

Ok now I understand the interest. Imagine him with torerria snapping at opposition teams
Quick on his feet, able to keep the ball close while dribbling, his transition are top notch, defensively reliable. He stays on his feet while tackling in the box but willing to slide if the situation warrants it.
He does however take abit too many touches when dribbling and that can work against him in the premier league. Some of the tackles too while precise, were a tad dangerous if you compare it to premier league standard.
A good buy all in all if it happens but can't see how Arsenal can pull it off unless they sell off players like willock or guendozi.
