    I just bought my first VFT and found your channel….i emailed you and you replied back pretty quickly so thank you for that and I am now subscribed. This video was very helpful. Once I get the perlite and get the soil mixed and get it repotted I’ll know to keep it outside and not move it around as I didn’t know that moving it from front to back of the house to back of the house for the sunlight can stress it out. I just got it yesterday so I’m VERY new to carnivorous plants

    • @TheFlytrapGarden
      @TheFlytrapGarden  Před rokem

      This depends on the plants health and how you acquired it. You don’t have to feed your plant, but if it is acclimated and looking great you could feed it immediately. Otherwise if it was sent in the mail and it is sulking, you may have to wait until it has recovered before trying. And feeding them live insects is best

    I've had my prized one for a while now in Brisbane, I found under a spider farmer 1000, a 200mm wide pot with a desert plate under it Australian NU brand pure spring water with a low strength mix of hydroponic nutrients and a tad of fish emulsion bottom feeding full time and foliage spray of the pure spring water, peat moss, cocoa coir and about 35 percent pearlite, the mouths of the biggest ones are 45 to 48mm wide and deep dark red. When I had it outside in full sun it blackened off much more and had a lot less mouths, it catches the odd fly in the small mouths but the big ones the hairs seem too far apart so the fly doesn't trigger the two hair hit trap. people say don't feed them nutrients but that's Bull crap.
