Hey Paul, I did give you a like because I enjoyed the video. I don’t know whether it’s hilarious or sad that you think that adding more than 30% to one’s maximum price constitutes going “a little outside of one’s budget.” I do wish we were all in the position to do so. Still, a really helpful video. I own a vintage travel trailer, which I love, but I have reached the point where I see the advantage of not having to say, “Time out, Mr. Bear, while I couple my trailer and make an escape…” So where the vans, Skoolies and some of the Ambulance conversations have an advantage is the security of being able to beat a hasty retreat without having to exit the vehicle.

💯 can offer a slightly lower price. Most people list a few thousand higher for this reason. I did when I sold my Westfalia.
What about van buses? Lots of circulation, with companies selling them for 10-20k with only 70k miles on average. Most of these are technically 2011-2013 Handicap Vans that where used for transportating elderly. They often even have more space than the Sprinter Vans.
They definitely have more space! I have yet to tackle the project of a bus, but I know plenty of people take that route! It all just comes down to preferences.
Great job here Paulsheer. You are going to have a great channel by sticking to the teaching format. A lot of people waste time getting to the point. You make the most of it by keeping it short and sweet. 🎯

Looking into this rn, also looking to do a complete build within the $8,000 mark. I have some knowledge as far as tools go and am decently mechanically inclined I just don’t think I’m capable of designing my own layout and I also have no clue how to hook up all the electrical stuff.
Designing is the easy part!! I personally just have a rough idea of what I want and then get to work and tweak along the way! The thought of having every single thing measured down to a T would not work for me… but everyone’s different 👍🏻

Eight grand is a huge budget for some, maybe cut that in half and for many in Van life even that would be a lot of money

I am one of those people! I am looking at a 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, that has 130,000 miles on it. I need assistance building a very simple build after I get all but the driver's seat taken out. There is so much storage left. Just need storage built in there with lids that cover the opening and a removable floor that is all one section that can be removed and used as a large table top outside. The rest of the inside I just want to be open and removeable/changeable storage pieces that are light and take up little space. Where can I find you?
I have been using Craigslist for a long time. I have heard about Facebook marketplace but was too lazy to make an account. Big mistake considering the deals on there. Thanks for the video. Just because it might be obvious for someone who is familiar, it's absolutely not for someone who is used to other methods like car dealerships.

I’m considering selling my van. Yes it is a salvage title . However I got a new motor and muffler and tailpipe; new battery, alternator. Tires, etc. has 130 watts of solar. Was taking of redesign the inside but running out of time due to my busy schedule. White with gold trim.
The original engine lasted about 240K miles. New engine is E150 and has 86k miles.
Other minor things added to pass MD state inspection. Let me know if you are interested or would you mind mentioning it on your channel. 1999 Ford Econoline 250.

the problem with market place is that you cannot use more than a couple filters or it reverts back to generalized searches. And the price filter also shows dealers with "down payment" which is very frustrating!!!

Absolutely tell them NO. You don't want to fall into a nasty deal, spending thousands to fix stuff.

Thank you! Looking to downsize this year and build out a van for a a reasonable price. Prices are pretty wild still but I am hopeful I'll find the perfect van. What do you think about starting out with all the windows on an econoline? I see a lot of tutorials on creating the windows. I'm not sure how it will affect the build/insulation in the long run.

I would need to sell my Subaru and my garage would only hold something in the “car size” like a small Ford Transit (no more than 85 inches tall)….15 1/2 feet long. Thoughts? Thank you! Karla
I would just look for vans that would fit your dimensions! If you're not sure just google "(whatever model van it is) dimensions". I've had to do that several times to make sure the length fits in my driveway.
