Eric, my father recently left us after a 98 year run. His harmonica playing is known to literally millions as he has played venues all over the world. When we were kids, we used to sit around a campfire and he would just play whatever popped into his head, but he always played this song for us as it was probably one of our favorites. I am working out a very complex arrangement for finger style guitar now, hoping that some of his music can live on through his children. The biggest difference between what he did and what I am doing is that with a guitar you can embellish a piece with adornments. With a harmonica, you get one note so you better get everything you can out of it. I really appreciate what you have done here by allowing this beautiful little melody to stand out. The best advice I could add to your tutorial is to always remember the tune and make sure that is the message you are sending, not the accompaniment. It's the melody, that's what moves people. Guitar is so unlike most instruments like woodwinds, horns, etc. We are so fortunate to be able to surround a melody unlike a sax or a trumpet, but our primary responsibility should alway be to deliver the tune first and color is after.

My grandpa died of pancreatic cancer in 2008. When my grandma sold her house, me and my sister got his guitar, which is missing a couple strings. One day, I'm gonna find someone that I trust to restring the guitar and learn to play this song so that my mother can hear it play again.
