    This is fantastic. Vai does justice to Terry''s old parts, and the crowd seems into it.

    I respect all the guitar guys since Terry, but this really takes you back to early Chicago! They need a current, dominant sounding guitar lead like this!!

    I wish they would do this in concert more. Maybe they should hire this guy. I've heard a lot of good things about Steve Vai but haven't seen or heard him until now. I haven't seen this much energy since Dawayne Bailey was with Chicago.

    I’ve met Steve twice. No rock star attitude with him. Such a talent. The first 2 times I saw him play 24 years ago I was in tears. I couldn’t stop crying (?) & couldn’t believe someone could play that well. I felt I was watching history…🎸

    Finally, a guy worthy of playing Terry's CTA work, but they cut huge pieces out of both these songs, especially out of Poem. Also cut out the entire second verse of Purples.

    I'm not even that big of a Steve Vai fan and havent listened to Chicago in quite a while, but this is very cool. Not quite Terry Kath cool, but still very good. Southern California Purples is in my opinion the most underrated Chicago song of All Time. The version from Live at Carnegie Hall is exceptional...😎 This version is waaaaay too short and ended prematurely. Oh well, nice try anyway...

    I was hoping he would at least play the same "geography" on Poem 58, (2:20 in the studio version). Terry was so eclectic, and wish they had ventured into that territory more, since they did almost everything else.

  • @RockU2Death5150
    @RockU2Death5150 Před 7 měsíci +1

    The worst audio of any show I have ever seen in my entire life. Sound guys were asleep half the time. Entire solos were muted or so quiet. Vocals were missed because channels were muted. Trombone was consistently too quiet. Overall mix was totally off. I've never been so angry. Way too expensive to be so half-ass, especially considering the amount of talented artists in that room. 🤬
