- A source tells ET that Chris Rock partied into the night after his altercation with Will Smith at the 2022 Academy Awards. The ‘King Richard’ star slapped the comedian on the Oscars stage following a joke about wife Jada Pinkett Smith’s hair loss . According to our source, Chris didn’t let the shocking incident spoil his night out with friends.

Oh that’s terrific!
The person who won't forget the bad joke is the one who was made the joke and had everyone laughing at them for their health condition. That can be very traumatizing and damaging for many people. So no, the bad joke won't be forgotten. And the attitude to defend your loved one is what the world needs more of. Defending those being singled out. This was a gala event, not a roast. There's no need for hurtful or tasteless comedy. If you aim to hurt someone, expect consequences in some form or another.

I commend Chris Rock for his professionalism and his poise 👏. Not a lot of people could do what he did on live TV. It shows that he has a high level of maturity and integrity too.

She's bald. It's not cancer. Grow up
It was a joke about a military hair cut not about a medical condition. You don't know Chris Rock even knew she had alopecia. I know alopecia and I don't see any bald spots on her head, I see every hair follicle filled nicely but Im not a doctor so I can't say with certainty other than it looks to me like just a very short GI Jane hair cut which rock may have thought too.
He wasn't even calling out her alopecia ....she had her head shaved in GI Jane and it's not the first time she shaved her head completely. Will is on a chain by that woman
NOBODY knew Jada had some hair loss problems until the morning after. Everyone thought it was a fashion statement
A few months ago I watched a plastic surgeon analyze Jada’s claim of alopecia.
He said that her pattern of balding showed similarities of a facelift gone wrong-a line of balding from ear to ear over the crown of her head, much like a headband-instead of the rounded or circular bald spots typical of alopecia.
I have the most admiration for Chris Rock the way he handled himself and kept things going for the Oscars he's pretty amazing isn't he
Violence condoned by the spineless Academy by not expelling him from the event immediately. Shameful.
i think its spinless to allow bullying of celebrities in the name of 'tradition'. if they wanted to be roasted they would attend a roast or comedy show. there is always a 'comedian' who gets off on disrespecting people under the guise of a 'joke'. if that tradition was stopped this would never happen

The academy needed attention because no one watches the Oscars no more and they pulled this off successfully.
The whole thing is a joke because the writers either gave Rock the material or signed off on it, jada’s condition isn’t that deep (Chris did imply it was in jest) Will had his big “heel” moment and the academy failed to strip him of the award because now he’s delivered a public apology to Chris via social

I had no idea Jada was sick either. I thought she was making a fashion statement and I thought she looked beautiful. And the thing about it, Will Smith laughed at the joke. Until he turned around and saw Jada face. Then he just lost his mind. And he should lose his Oscar.
Above? Will Smith has been one of the most decent men his entire career. you make it seem like he has a history of Foolery and inappropriate antics smh.

violence is not the answer but siding w the bullying side who has been bullyyng The Smiths for years doesn’t add up either.

True
Lol stand up for her.... Will's logic " you may f*ck my wife, but you cannot tell a joke about her"
You nailed it

Exactly. There's too much violence in the world now hint Ukraine.
You need to stop telling young men out there that "standing up" for your wife or your honor has to be done through violence, this is such a dangerous message. There were hundreds of more positive ways Will could have handled and turned this into a teaching moment for all of us watching but he let the toxic hypermasculine environment take over.
I was rooting for him to get this Oscar but his behaviour during and after was extremely disappointing.
He definitely could have still interrupted Chris without hitting him that's for sure!

Chris Rock handled the situation with awesome class. He should be commended for his superior behavior.
Smith laughed at the 'joke', it's whatever the wife said or gestured to him that he reacted angrily too.
I think Smith really needs to literally get his house in order, no hair or scalp disease is not what this is about, anyone who sleeps with her son's friend and expects her husband to 'defend her honour' is living in la la land..... o yea, they are !!!
His wife is the man of the house. Will got played by his wife and she defined who he is. Will needs to be a real man and think through before doing stupid thing, don't let someone that doesn't love you define you. There are many better ways to handle this situation.

You actually believe the will ban him. 😂
Making fun of someone with a medical condition isn’t being a man. How are you going to make a whole documentary that looked at the societal pressures and sensitivity around black women's hair. Then do this? What will did wasn’t right but why are we acting like he wasn’t in the wrong to?

Chris Rock has spent a career facing drunks and hecklers at his standups. , he confronted lots of bullies like Will Smith as well as racist cops and neighbors in the rough Bed-Stuy district of NYC in the 1970s. As a thin Black kid, son of a social worker and truck driver, with 7 siblings, he also endured constant bully at the white school he was bussed to until his parents finally pulled him out. What a tribute that this high school dropout made it in stand-up with 5 HBO specials, an SNL cast member, and co-star of many movies, hosting 3 Oscars, and with 4 Emmys and 3 Grammys! And kept it classy all the way. Take that Will Smith!
Exactly what I thought when I saw how Chris reacted.

How disturbing is it that some of the same individuals who decried the abuse and victimization of women, could applaud such a disturbing display of misplaced masculinity and abuse at the hands of a powerful individual. If you see the video from the beginning you will see Will Smith laughing at the joke. It was a good joke, a bad joke , it is a joke. When Will saw Jada to not laugh and be annoyed that is what escalated the whole situation. In the end of the day it's whether you can take a joke or not. To me the appropriate behavior Will should have is to talk to Chris, not Will slap him in front of all the world not only the Oscar theater. Because the Oscar theater laughed too just as Will. Jada might not have self sarcasm or doesn't like jokes. Since Will laughed in the first place there is no need to blow things out of purpotion to prove to his wife "look what I did for you." If Jada didn't like it she should talk. Strong women ( I really believe Jada is a very strong woman) should defend themselves. No woman needs a man to protect them. Women can and should defend themselves. And if Will would just say "bro it was a bad joke and we never joke about health issues. "
In conclusion I MUST say Violence is wrong. IT IS WRONG. Whoever you are it doesn't matter, VIOLENCE IS WRONG. And no woman or man must escalate a bad situation.
