Yeeessssssssssss!!! Thank you. Thank you. It worked. Everything in the car works now, even the car alarm. I did it myself. Thank you! It was the Module fuse!!

THANK YOU!!!!! I almost didn't buy this vehicle because it had the same problem during my test drive. One fuse solved it AND the trunk not opening, interior door/dome lights not working while the car was off and the key fob not unlocking the doors.

For anybody having trouble getting the cigarette lighter out, pry from the top with a plastic pry tool. Really work it and you'll probably mess your tool up a bit but you can get it. Don't stress too hard on the bottom or it will just mangle the plastic. I'm a professional installer and it even took me a ton of work to get it. Good luck.

Syllith I wish I had read your comment first, I had a struggle of a time getting it from the bottom. I even broke off pieces. Having the right information and tools can make life so much better.

Thanks, after 15 minutes of trying from the bottom with no luck, I was able to get it out from the top in a few minutes.

Thank you for your tip, it really helped. I also removed both cigarette caps and put my fingers in there to get a good pull. The clips finally popped from the top. This is by far the hardest part of the job.

This is about the UVO radio's sound not working, but everything else works.
Resetting the tiny reset button on the UVO radio, and checking all of the fuses for a blown fuse, resetting the 12v battery power to the SUV, contacting the Kia dealership for an outside of the warranty solution, none of it worked for me, and I couldn't find a used radio online by the part # search.
After I removed the UVO radio from my 2012 Kia Sorento, I had it tested for sound at a local audio store. The store confirmed that the radio was bad, and everything else was fine. After further research online, I registered as an owner at KIA.COM and saw UVO software upgrade version 1.mp.9.010 dated 9/13/12. I upgraded the current radio software from version 1.mp.9.008 to 1.mp.9.010 and the sound problem was fixed.
Hope this helps!, and my many thanks go to the person who posted the 'radio removal' video.

I am having the same problem with my 2012 Sorento. I registered at kia.com but I don't see the upgrade. It just says my VIN is not a UVO car, although the radio is not after market, but it did not come with my car, its a KIA Radio just this one has a bigger screen and navigation.

My issue is that the touchscreen is no longer responsive. I imagine I will have to replace the unit, which is almost identical to the one in the video. I am currently looking for a good price on a fully functional radio. UVO, Sirius XM & the screen displays the backup camera view when car is in reverse. Thank you for the excellent instruction on how to remove, and the tip on not damaging the screen with the shift lever (something I most likely been unaware of as I did it!). I have subscribed and given you a big thumbs up. I will check your website to see if you can help me find a reasonably priced used unit to replace mine with... unless you know how I can fix the touchscreen! Thanks again.

That's ok if nothing works, but mine came on but had no sound. Buttons knobs display all worked but no sound. There was a broken wire in the left rear door by the hinge. If you wiggled the rubber boot just right the radio sound came on. Something to do with anti theft? Also the power window would go down but not come up until you wiggled the wire. sometimes hitting the left window switch the radio sound came on.

Excellent Video,I have a 2013 KIA Sorento 4x4 with the antenna located on the roof at the rear, the radio is not sensitive enough to pick up good FM here in the Philippines,I have an FM radio antenna Amplifier I brought from the US made for Cars and it has a Male Motorola Plug to go to the radio and a Female Motorola Plug in the Amplifier and operates at 12 Volts DC.
Does the KIA Radio accept the Motorola Plugs or not?
Do I have to take the dash apart to get to the antenna connector on the radio?
    Thank You

Got any idea why a 2012 Sorento radio would go to a white screen? Controls all seem to work but of course you can;t see what you are really doing. What's really weird is that it has vertical lines in it and they seem to change with the sound coming out of the radio. Almost like a visualization program running.
