Headers are absolutely necessary, but the heat that they radiate is tremendous.
Ceramic coating and rapping should provide adequate shielding .
But I would always keep a back set of wires, to eliminate the downtime.
Anything custom made you should always have spares.
Had same problem on my ls9, heat with Long tubes will always kill the plug boots even with sleeves. Just gotta keeping checking them and keep a few in the car.

Pick up a set of 45⁰ custom length CERAMIC wires.. I think the brand I got was dragon fire.. got from summit along with their crimping tool (yes its worth the $30).. when you lay the wires out make sure you have as much air gap as possible between the wires and the headers...

i lost my dad to huntingtons disease it's a rare genetic disorder that runs in the family me and one of my sisters has it the rest of the family doesn't want to find out until there feeling it he went peacefully also i was diagnosed with a brain tumor that almost killed me it's called a glioblastoma brain tumor it grades from 1-4 1 not so aggressive to 4 being non treatable living your last few months but here i am 12 years later kicked cancers behind!!!

If you’re burning plugs, not boots, you might want to try a cooler heat range. Maybe a ZL1 plug? I drive a ZL1 and haven’t had any issues…bone stock.
