    *UPDATE! Someone pointed out that you can adjust the Vacuum and Sealing times on the Anova by holding down the icons until the arrows pop up. I can confirm this IS the case and it does work but the arrows are not very sensitive and you do have to push them pretty hard.* These Bags will fit BOTH units 11" wide x10" long and they are only $32 for 250 bags - amzn.to/3xCLZhH

    Thanks for making these videos. Great information! I just received mine yesterday. I wanted to note that the vacuum time IS adjustable on the Anova. You hold down the Vacuum icon for three seconds, and arrows appear next to the time that you can adjust up or down. Similar process can be used to adjust the sealing time.

    Thanks for the video. If I saw this a day earlier, I would have gone with the Anova. With the 20% anova coupon, and 10% avid armor coupon, the Anova is around $50 cheaper with taxes in my area. I initially thought that the quality to include the motor would be different but based on your video, they are the same. I actually timed the normal cycle on both units on your video, Avid Armor completed 3 seconds faster due to the longer cooling time for the Anova.

    • @FireWaterCooking

    Anova looks way better, and the analog dial is just more moving parts to break. Anova seems to be using capacitive conductive switches while Avid Armor seems to be using foil button mechanical contact switches. You can see you fumble with the Avid Armor switch a bit there. I'm buying Anova.

    I don’t see where these are made by the same company. Anova Culinary has been around since 2013 and Avid Armor 2016. Anova has a better return policy of 100 day vs 30 days for Avid Armor. Anova has preset features such as infuse/extract, compress/pickle and dry/cool that makes it easier to deal with their recipes. You are on your own to figure out the equivalents with Avid Armor

    • @FireWaterCooking
      @FireWaterCooking  Před 9 měsíci

      both of these units are NOT made by either company. they are made by the same company in China and rebadged with their brand and logos on them. They can also adjust some functions and buttons, but they are mostly the same unit. There are a TON of products that do this and you would be surprised how many. The pre-set features are simply pre-set times for vacuum and sealing and mean nothing.

    Just started researching these vacuum chambers but, all things being equal, I think I'd avoid this Anova model because of all of the "brains" of the unit, or at least all of the display parts, being mounted on the moving lid. Just like laptop displays can fail because of the wires passing through a moving hinge, I can see where Anova might have similar issues with this design.
