  • For today’s Five Minute Histories video, we come to you from in front of the Baltimore American Indian Center in Upper Fell’s Point to talk about the rich Lumbee heritage in East Baltimore. Tomorrow happens to be the birthday of one of the Center’s founders, Elizabeth Locklear. We appreciate her work and those of her peers. Also, thank you to Ashley Minner for sharing her fabulous research with us!
This is our series called "Five Minute Histories." Twice a week, we’ll record a short video about a different historic place in Baltimore and post it on our Facebook page and website.

Thanks very informative. I'm a member of the tribe. As a kid my parents would make the trip from FAYETTEVILLE to Baltimore to visit my aunt , uncle and cousins there.
