The White Stripes Albums Ranked From Worst to Best

- The White Stripes were one of the more successful rock bands to emerge from the early 2000's rock revival. Today we're ranking all 6 of their studio albums.
****
The White Stripes were an American rock duo formed in Detroit, Michigan in 1997. The group consisted of Jack White (songwriter, vocals, guitar, piano, and mandolin) and his one-time wife Meg White (drums and vocals). After releasing several singles and three albums within the Detroit music scene, the White Stripes rose to prominence in 2002 as part of the garage rock revival scene. Their successful and critically acclaimed albums White Blood Cells and Elephant drew attention from a large variety of media outlets in the United States and the United Kingdom. The single "Seven Nation Army", which used a guitar and an octave pedal to create the iconic opening riff, became one of their most recognizable songs. The band recorded two more albums, Get Behind Me Satan in 2005 and Icky Thump in 2007, and dissolved in 2011 after a lengthy hiatus from performing and recording.
The White Stripes used a low-fidelity approach to writing and recording. Their music featured a melding of garage rock and blues influences and a raw simplicity of composition, arrangement, and performance. The duo were also noted for their fashion and design aesthetic which featured a simple color scheme of red, white, and black-which was used on every album and single cover the band released-as well as the band's fascination with the number three. The band's discography consists of six studio albums, two live albums, one extended play (EP), one concert film, one tour documentary, 26 singles, and 14 music videos. Their last three albums each won the Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. In 2015, Rolling Stone's named them the sixth greatest duo of all time.

The excitement for this one was palpable!
We need the Wilco list
It's totally legit and worthwhile to rank albums of bands you're not necessarily crazy about, totally crazy about or even ones you think are lame. We should get the full experience - bands you love, bands you hate. Albums you adore, albums you crap on.
Rich gets it.
THAAAANK YOUUUUUUU
@@TastesLikeMusic hell yeah I do
Damn, you guys were PUMPED for this!
I can not overstate how much I loved them in high school. Jack’s guitar style is great for teaching beginners. (I mean that as a compliment)
I feel like Jack is gonna be a very interesting songwriter once he gets into his 50s and gives us his Time Out Of Mind.
Nothing interesting about impersonating someone else’s album. Kind of crazy to think two people would think alike at certain ages. Dylan’s life has been excess and crazy compared to Jacks. Not remotely similar. Dylan was at deaths door.
Has anybody heard of the Flying Lizards? The debut was released in 1979 with Top Ten in 1984 being their last.
Jack White definitely knew them.
I will not comment anything today because the year lists to feature them are still coming, only that I do not agree to a single word from the video today - you were not talking about the band and the music but only about all the reception in the media around the band, which is something I never cared for a single moment.
Anyway:
6. De Stijl
5. debut
4. Get Behind Me Satan
3. Elephant
2. Icky Thump
1. White Blood Cells
PS - my favourite Jack White work is an album not with the White Stripes....more in the future.
I hope you’re referring to The Raconteurs. Superior to the White Stripes in every way. But then again, so is everything else he’s ever done. -Jason
@@TastesLikeMusic I cannot disagree more. Obviously we have a very different view on White - with or without Stripes.
I'm pretty sure we talked about the music a good bit
I've heard their quirky cover of "Money (That's What I Want)," but that's about it.
@@ComeOnIsSuchAJoy The "Top Ten" album is all like this, ten cover songs reduced to the bare minimum, if you heard Money then you have an idea of the concept. This is why the White Stripes reminded me of them - taking an approach on music you seem to know from a different angle.
I'm 51 so I'm a good amount older than you guys. Funny you mention Jet as they and The White Stripes were my last glimpse of hope for the future of decent commercial/popular music. Alas it was not meant to be and I now listen almost exclusively to music from the mid 60s-mid 90s. Love your channel btw, keep up the great work!
Just gonna drop some love for my personal fave: Get Behind Me Satan.
It's just so lovely and varied, the few heavy moments absolutely fuck, and all the melodic, sappyish stuff just works so well for me.
Jack White is a punk. It’s Fall 2012 and my brother in law and I decide to drive up to NYC and hang out for the weekend. He gets tickets to Jack White at Radio City all fires up because JW produced the awesome Loretta Lynn Van Lear Rose (I’m a moderate stripes fan). We go to the packed venue on Saturday night and Jack throws his guitar down 3 or 4 songs after the first set. Everyone is like what’s going on - ten minutes later the lights come on and an announcer says the band isn’t coming back out and the show is over. A mob of a couple hundred people are trying to break in through the back to pound Jack White (I wasn’t there for this but heard) and the guy is holed up there and apparently orders a bunch of pizzas and there is complete outrage. We leave the venue and walk to a bar probably 20 blocks away and are chatting with the bartender telling him the story and he’s like “yeah the new album Blunderbuss sucks. Did you know Neil Young gave a free concert in Central Park tonight??”
I almost lost it. For an artist as overrated as Jack White who can’t play more than 5 guitar chords or write a consistent variety of high quality songs to arrogantly rip off their fans is just a disgrace. Not a class act at all - Neil Young and the greats are all gracious with their fans and would never do that. That’s why Jack Whites a punk - I want my $65 back.
Who knows why he hung it up? Couldn't make his guitar sound right? I agree, this sucked and you deserve your money back. But one bad gig does not destroy a legacy. Just ask Axl Rose.
Moral of the story: don't spend $65 to see a concert. I saw Tommy Stinson on his first tour with Bash & Pop stop a show after three songs because the drummer was pissed at the sound guy. I only lost $10 but got a funny story out of the deal.
A few good suggestions are: The strokes, Joy Division, Interpol, Belle and Sebastian, Daft Punk, Modest Mouse, etc
Joy division albums ranked episode, that is going to be epic(ally short!)

7. White Blood Cells
8. Dodge and Burn
9. Consolers of the Lonely
10. De Stijl
11. Entering Heaven Alive
12. Broken Boy Soldiers
13. Help Us Stranger
14. The White Stripes
15. Get Behind Me Satan
16. Lazaretto
17. Boarding House Reach
6. Get Behind Me Satan(2.5/5)

4. White Blood Cells (3/5)
3. The White Stripes (3/5)
2. Elephant (4/5)
1. De Stijl (4.5/5)
I actually prefer Jack’s solo stuff and side projects a bit more
As I’m watching this , I had a feeling Jason would put The White Stripes debut at 6,
I recently came across your rankings and enjoying each one. It would be great to hear your opinions of The Tragically Hip (Canada) who are revered here. They released 13 albums over the years until their iconic lead singer, Gord Downie, passed away from cancer. Even after his diagnosis in 2016, they toured their final album across the country with a final show in their hometown that was nationally televised. Would love to get your thoughts on their work.
Greatest Zeppelin garage band of all time!
6 - White Blood Cells
5 - The White Stripes
4 - Get Behind Me Satan
3 - De Stijl
2 - Elephant
1 - Icky Thump
The White Stripes are better than Led Zeppelin, and I absolutely mean that.
Wow! Really surprised by your indifference. To my ears amazing band, great tunes and fantastic guitar playing! Just goes to show how subjective music can be, psssst, don't understand the love for Rush myself...
It’s probably because they were successful. They said at the beginning they were put off by the hype which in a reverse way is letting the media judge what you like. These amigos probably don’t like anything popular.
I pretty much agree with you guys, although I do like 7 Nations Army more than you do. It's a good band but not a great one. What I like best about them is their image. They also have a bunch of good songs but I agree that they lack more variety to their sound.
Didn't expect this one :D
Sometimes we like to pick artists with smaller discographies. Less work. That’s a trade secret. - Joe
Few albums but tough to rank? You guys could do The Stooges or The Velvet Underground
Was never a fan, so I'm enjoying watching all three of you guys shrugging and meh-ing your way through the entire catalog. But it does get me wondering what made you decide to tackle this one in the first place.
Because it was short 😂. - Joe
Well, looks like I like the White Stripes way more than you guys lol. I do get tired of blues songs, especially when they use those same old predictable chord progressions. But I think the White Stripes offered something really fresh. As for pure Blues, I have little use for it unless someone really talented like Stevie Ray Vaughan is doing it.
Huge White Stripes fan over here, so I was a little sad to hear that you guys weren't too into them, but glad to see you tackle their discography nonetheless. My ranking:
6. Icky Thump
5. Elephant
4. De Stijl
3. The White Stripes
2. Get Behind Me Satan
1. White Blood Cells
I need to clarify because I like the White Stripes plenty. Especially for a modern band. They’re just not as exciting as say... everyone from the 70s. So there’s a little let down when doing an artist like this compared to say Joni or Lennon. - Joe
I like how Joe got ratio'd by Jason and Kramzer on the number 1 album. Joe looked pissed.
I thought they were cooler than that. - Joe
hahaha
You're loved Joe!
Jason and Kramzer each matched three of my rankings. Joe was the outlier with only 1. However, I disagree with all three of you regarding Seven Nation Army. You're letting overexposure control, rather than influence, your estimation of the song.
1. Elephant
2. Icky Thump
3. White Blood Cells
4. De Stijl
5. the White Stripes
6. Get Behind Me Satan
In my opinion, White Stripes took their concept as far it could go. They quit at the right time. I was deeply disappointed when Jack White announced their split, but in hindsight it was time to wrap it up. The alternatives would have been to add members and expand their sound, or keep on doing the same thing. They made the right choice. I think one of their contemporaries and an all-time favorite of mine made the same choice when facing the same set of alternatives, although no official announcement has been made. At least not that I have heard.
I thought Seven Nation Army was pretty mediocre the first time I heard it. Couldn't believe it blew up the way that it did. -Jason
I completely agree with you that they quit at the right moment when they explored their concept thoroughly. Maybe they were inspired by Led Zeppelin in this as well?
So from watching this I'm going to predict "Seven Nation Army" is not in Joe's top ten songs.
My order is probably Elephant, White Blood Cells, Icky Thump, De Stijl, the debut and Get Behind Me Satan.
Yeah, definitely a band that’s somewhat too limited sonically for them to ever be one of my favorites, though I do appreciate the relative variety of Icky Thump, and Elephant does their thing well enough that it may be in my top 10 for 2003, even if not quite top 5. But then, I’m kind of a sheep and dig “Seven Nation Army” quite a bit more than you guys do. 😉
Jason what band (s) were you in while you were in Philadelphia?
I made an EP with a band called Antiquing that broke up before we ever played a show. I subbed in on a few shows with a band called Pawnshop Roses. I also played a bit with James Dukenfeld. I was only in Philly for 3 years, nothing ever really got rolling there. Most of my experience playing out was in Pittsburgh.
6) Get Behind Me Satan
5) Elephant
4) De Stijl
3) The White Stripes
2) White Blood Cells
1) Icky Thump
First thought when you made a White Stripes video: Meh.... And just for the hell of it, I wanted to see what you guys though of 'em, and lo and behold, meh...:D
I'm with you. Good band, but something to enjoy in small doses when I'm in the mood. I could never imagine listening to all their albums in one go...
Will You do The Black Keys next?
Would make color sense
Jack White actually does use keyboard on the song "Icky Thump." Pretty trippy too.
Any chance of a Velvet Underground/Lou Reed album list? Would love a John Cale one too,but that's digging REALLY deep
I would love rankings of the albums of all three but a Velvet Underground ranking seems most reasonable.
I think all are reasonable. Probably eventually.
@@TastesLikeMusic very cool. but the VU is still probably the best place to start.
@@TastesLikeMusic I know Joe isn't a VU fan.
Spoiler alert: _Squeeze_ will be at the bottom for all of them. I hope they also rank _VU,_ given that it's pretty much their _Coda._
In agreement mostly with the White Stripes. Ok, average what ever you want to call it. And I am bored to death of Seven Nation Army now becoming the sports stadium anthem for everything! On a seperate note how do you guys find time to rank all of these discographys? Your turnaround time is mighty impressive.
A regular job that allows me to wear headphones while I work. - Joe
Christmas w/ the Cranks. Too cool for the White Stripes.
whoa...you guys are killing me with your opinion on white blood cells. offend in every way, same boy you've always known and now mary are songs that remain on my rotation to this day.
i think it is unfair to want " every thing " from " every band " in terms of variety. that is what a record collection is for. the white stripes excels at their sound and scratches an itch perfectly.
You're not wrong with your assessment. It's good for a record collection... But we rank those records in a collection. Sometimes a pbnj sandwich hits the spot...but a good steak is definetly better
I agree.
I thought Lazaretto was a great solo effort by Jack White. Any of you a fan of that one?
Brief aside: I'm going to be interested in you guys eventually covering these artists for the following reasons:
1. Crosby, Stills, and Nash: This is interesting because I recently looked it up and realized they only released two albums during the 60s period that they're so idolized for and associated with. Are any of the six or seven post-75 albums they put out worthwhile?
2. Madonna: I'm not familiar with her catalog, so I'm curious to find out if anything from her career is worth checking out, especially since she's one of the highest selling artists of all time.
3. Elton John: I love the guy, but something tells me the first half of this video is gonna be spent trashing his 80s output. Should be a fun time.
4. Warren Zevon: Because he's awesome.
Lazaretto is decent, like most everything he does. The only album that he’s ever been involved with that I think is better than decent and actually very good is Consolers of the Lonely.
One of those artists is coming soonish.

@@TastesLikeMusic There's something off about Raconteurs. Like, the concept sounds good in theory, but the outcome leaves me "meh".
1. Technically, they only released ONE album in the '60s. Of all their 8 studio albums, I'd say _American Dream,_ _Live It Up,_ and _After the Storm_ fall under the 'completists only' category. Everything else is at least somewhat worthwhile. Their last album, the oft-dismissed _Looking Forward_ is particularly overlooked.
3. Elton's '80s output is still better than his '90s output, IMO.
@@shoogerkane That's because Brendan Benson is the undisputed king of meh. The other 3 are awesome.
Jack and Meg forever!! Every musician is influenced by others! Their music was as raw as it was complex and as beautiful as unique. Show me any other band that could define their sound with two musicians LIVE!!! They had a magic that can never be duplicated. LONG LIVE THE WHITE STRIPES!!!!!!
The Black Keys are more enjoyable for me anyway but the raw stuff is some of what makes these albums so cool
It's not often my least favourite album by an artist has my favourite song, but it's such a small discography, so maybe not too weird. Don't quite get why people dislike Get Behind Me Satan so much, which I thought was fine.

I don't disagree with your general assessment of the White Stripes, but I think I like a lot more of their songs than you guys. They're not worth my time to rehash every album, but I think my favorite was Elephant and least favorite Get Behind Me, Satan. I think my favorite songs of theirs are "Icky Thump" and "You're Pretty Good Looking, For A Girl."
Wilco would be good. Lou Reed would be awesome, as people are so divided in their opinions on most of his albums. I would love to see what the three of you think of this rock and roll legend’s music. Can we look forward to album rankings for both these artists?
Probably eventually. Don’t know when though.
@@TastesLikeMusic But we all know Metal Machine Music will be a unanimous number 1.
@@TastesLikeMusic Sooner the better. Are any of you Lou Reed fans? I enjoy the different viewpoints you each bring, which makes the channel so interesting. Also, I have followed up on some of your recommendations, so thanks for that!
@@Ras137 The one Lou Reed album I haven’t listened to yet. Apparently Thurston Moore (Sonic Youth) loves this album. So, if it led to Daydream Nation, how bad can it be?
I like a lot of Lou Reed stuff, but I’m not a die hard fan. He has quite a few albums that I haven’t even heard. -Jason
Thought, you'd enjoy them more.
I have to wonder how old these guys were when White Blood Cells came out...
I was 17 - Jason
I'm not the biggest fan of the White Stripes but they were one of few new bands I was listening to at the time. I think Get Behind Me Satan may have been the last new album I bought right as it came out.
6. Icky Thump - Outside of the title track...not much here ever really appealed to me.
5. The White Stripes - The covers are better than the originals but too rough around the edges even for the White Stripes.
4. Get Behind Me Satan - Was super disappointed in this album initially because it wasn't Elephant 2.0 Time has been good to it and I can appreciate Jack not wanting to do Elephant 2.0 Different but doesn't completely work for me.
3. De Stiljt - I think there is a pretty high chance Jason looked up how to pronounce this :) A big improvement over the debut with a number of good originals.
2. White Blood Cells - At 16 songs (though only 40 minutes) there's a bit of filler in here but many of their best songs.
1. Elephant - The biggest difference is between 1 and 2 is the "ratio" :) We have Joe and Kramzer's most "overrated" song ever...now Jason needs to chime in.
I agree with the idea of small dosses. Im that way with AC DC too.

6. The White Stripes
5. Icky Thump
4. Get Behind Me Satan
3. De Stijl
2. White Blood Cells
1. Elephant
that's my list, although the top 3 could be arranged differently depending on my mood at the time. but the bottom three have no chance of becoming top 3.
I'm with Joe in thinking that Elephant is overrated although I love Seven Nation Army. Ranks low for me.
I'm with you on that. White Blood Cells and De Stijl are the ones I really like and the rest have a few nice moments but they're not albums I listen to beginning-to-end.
01. De Stijl
02. Icky Thump
03. Elephant
04. The White Stripes
05. White Blood Cells
06. Get Behind Me Satan
Of all things, the first thing I think of when SNA is mentioned is when Metallica included it in a riff medley at some award show, and thinking, 'Well, I guess they had to put that one in there, since there’s been virtually no other riff-heavy popular song around recently‘. And that’s kind of what I think of the White Stripes: It‘s good that they were around to fly the authentic, uncompromising rock flag while almost nobody else did, and they did present a cool, distinct aesthetic and sound - but at the end of the day, the songs just leave too much of a bland aftertaste for me to be crazy about them. And as much as I respect Jack White for his dedication to whatever he does, his voice really gets annoying after a while.
Gave up on pitchfork very early because they ignored the band 'Wussy'. One of my favorite American bands of the past 15 years.
I know nothing about pitchfork. I fully agree on Wussy, good to hear from one of the 5000 people who know them - you are not alone.
@@roxannewalsh Hail Chuck and Lisa:)

How much better would they have been if they had a kickass bassist? My Doorbell is a sequel to the Wings classic Let Em In. I'm with you guys. They were ok, but not great. Running out of bands to rank?
Not even close to running out. There’s about 500 on our list.
@@TastesLikeMusic just curious since you featured artist none of you very enthused about

I love The White Stripes! At least I’m definitely an casual fan of theirs, they’re not an all-time great but they’re close. They are definitely more of a songs band than an albums band.
Elephant was the perfect student blast it album for me. Great record, but apart from their great memorable performance at Glastonbury back in the day not ever a huge fan. That performance though, a bit like Arcade Fires Neon Bible Glastonbury gig, really stuck in my head as fantastic gigs....both acts really exuded presence well....Stripes were just two people on stage but produced a pulsating rock clarity that really got everyone going... and I've watched them a few times over the years....I have a couple of Jack White solo records that are alright too....Elephant gets 8/10 from me.
Bands you should rank next : Supergrass, Steven Malkums and The Jicks, Fruit Bats, Mudhoney, Mark Lanegan…

We’ll probably do it when they release their next record. -Jason
Why rank a band all of you don’t like?
I have all thier albums and I think they are all good. And I’m a 60’s, 70’s and 80’s rock lover. This is a breath of fresh air compared to most of the newer bands. Not sure what you guys are missing.
But we do like them. We just don’t love them. But joe says he would give pretty much all of their albums at least a 3.5/5 and would give De Stijl a 4.5.
And if I got any track of mine into a Wes Anderson film I'd be totally thrilled whatever it was....!!🤠....I think he'd like the one where I accidentally burp but couldn't be bothered to edit it out...
I would have thrown in jacks solo albums since in some ways he only lost a drummer (i know meg brought a lot out of him). I just like that boarding house reach album
A different ranking, maybe after he has some more albums under his belt.
Icky Thump #1
White blood cells is my fav
Not much variety in their catalog? Jason, them fightin' words 😂
A fight he'll win
Still waiting for that Weezer listography.
Kind of love all the White Stripes studio albums. Perhaps not Get Behind Me Satan so much. I've seen JW live with his own band-(great) but not the White Stripes. Jack's a pretty loose player it appears to me live like Jimmy Page on a bad day but without JB & JPJ. Sonically live it's just too harsh for my ears.
Seven Nation Army had a decent riff. Meg White is cute. That's about it. All you need to know about this band.
She is a joy to behold when she drums. I won't go into specifics because I'm trying to be a gentleman here.
@@179rich Yeah. I wouldn't call her a good drummer. She can hold a beat....and me.
Nah. Meg as a drummer is not that good, but they made it work. Seven Nation Army is good, not great. But I think they've got a handful of bangers.
To me, this band is White Blood Cells and De Stijl. None of their other albums do that much for me. Elephant is definitely overrated.
But I would still give their career an overall positive review. Every decade needs its "back to basics" band and The White Stripes provided that in the 2000s.
Considering how shitty and unimaginative popular music has gotten since the end of the '80s, Jack White and his other projects (White Stripes/Raconteurs/Dead Weather/solo) is one of the handful of artists since then that do anything for me -- the others being Stereolab, Beck, Queens of the Stone Age, The New Pornographers, and Kaiser Chiefs (though I'm also a _very_ casual fan of Radiohead, Foo Fighters, The Killers, The Strokes, and Gorillaz).
Slow clap for Kramzer's three point shot - American Pie is easily the most overrated audio turd of all time.
Potential future topic: Major bands/singers that just don't do a whole lot for you. Nothing post-'80s; they should all be unequivocally time-tested.
Gonna be a looooonnng episode.
@@TastesLikeMusic A top 10 would suffice. For me:
1. Bruce Springsteen
2. The Grateful Dead
3. Queen
4. Van Morrison
5. Rush
6. Janis Joplin
7. Joe Cocker
8. Rod Stewart
9. Joni Mitchell
10. Jackson Browne
@@ComeOnIsSuchAJoy While I do agree with some...it pains me to see Bruce, Rod, and especially Van whom I consider the finest vocalist of the rock era.
@@Ras137 That sort of yowling that Van often does ("You're myyyyy brown-eyed girl," "Can Iiiiii just have one-a more moondance," etc.) just really annoys me, and his songwriting style just doesn't appeal to me ("Moondance" is pretty much the only song of his that I genuinely like); ironic, given that I definitely enjoy his work with Them.
I also generally enjoy Rod's work with the Jeff Beck Group and the Faces, but I feel he relied too much on covers in his solo career -- the same reason I'm not big on Janis or Joe... in addition to the fact that I just don't care for their voices.
And Bruce, I just don't get the hype. In terms of 'heartland rock,' I think both Seger and Mellencamp do it much better, particularly since they're both actually _from_ the so-called heartland, whereas Bruce is from friggin' Jersey. 🤨
@@ComeOnIsSuchAJoy I really appreciate Van's versatility from being blues shouter ("Gloria") to soulful pop maestro ("Brown Eyed Girl") to smooth but soulful jazz (most of his solo career). I sorta get what your saying but for me almost always the best thing in a Van Morrison song is Van himself so I love it.
I don't think you should hold against Rod his covers...often times I feel his covers are the definitive versions of songs...What should be held against him is the mostly crap he has released since the mid 70s.
As for Bruce, I don't think he's ever called himself a "heartland rocker" he just gets labeled that because he sings about the "working man" I've seen Petty labeled Heartland too and he's from Florida. I love Mellencamp (especially Scarecrow) but he wouldn't have a career if not for Bruce, hell the title of his first album, Chestnut Street Incident sounds like a parody of a Bruce song. As for Seger, he's good, really good, I just don't think he's the songwriter Bruce is. Sure he has a few classics...but a drop in the bucket comparatively.
Get behind me satin is there best album can u say underated
Joe has too many controversial opinions

Ouch! Gotta give you credit for sticking your necks out and not sugar-coating anything, but I still don't understand the logic of ranking a band's albums when you don't really like the band in the first place. I felt the same way about your Police ranking. So many other artists you could spend time with and offer interesting insights about them. When you don't like a band to begin with it seems your critiques don't really offer as much insight (i.e. not enough variety, too much blues, overrated, don't get the hype--all of which feel like kind of trite criticisms). It is difficult to say interesting things about music one doesn't like from the jump. I've pretty much given up trying to critique music I don't like, unless it's a song or record I don't like from an artist who I generally do like. It's why I never say anything about Pitchfork. 🤣🤣🤣
Except we all like The White Stripes
I like the police a lot. So does Joe. Not sure what video you watched
Joe also said that one of the albums of the white stripes could contend for album of the year for him...
I guess it didn’t really come through but I’d give all their albums at least 3.5/5 and De Stijl a 4.5/5. They’re just overrated by the musical press. - Joe
Exactly that. I assume there are no professional critics here, so we all pick up an unknown album (no matter if we know the artist or not) with the expectation/hope to enjoy it. Life is too short to waste on cheap wine or bad music. At least it is my attitude to focus on what I like in an album. It is always possible to find a flaw, even our best loved records may have one or other. Normally you would not need a whole discography to know whether you like and artist or not.
Underwhelming vibe here, total lack of enthusiasm

hard pass
For me, describing American Pie as the most overrated song of all time is plain silly. Surely that title belongs rightfully to either Imagine or Bridge Over Troubled Water.
