LEARN the BADMINTON DROP- the delicate shot that can put you on the offensive

  • With a good drop shot, you can disrupt the footwork of your opponents by drawing them to the front of the court. It can even allow you to change the pace of the game unexpectedly! A drop shot is a semi-offensive shot performed from the back of the court. It is usually used to maintain the pace of the game, but it can also be used to change it. If you master your drop shot, it can be very deceptive, and can result in a weak return from your opponent.

    I do enjoy playing the drop shot , I believe it's one of my stronger shots , played between smashes it can often catch your opponent out. I still enjoy practising it hoping to improve on the disguise. Thanks coach.

  • @tamalbhattacharjee8384

    Hello Po, I've some questions on the grip and arm movement during the smash shot. Is it the pronation of the arm or the flexion of the wrist that is needed for a perfect smash shot?

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  Před 4 lety +1

      The pronation and flexion are both important factors when doing the smash. The rotation of your arm should be done smoothly & naturally while bending of your elbow need to be comfortable in order for you to execute a good smash. These 2 come together hand in hand but how will you know if it’s right? Watch the video, also watch different players when they execute their smashes, try the movement until you feel like its natural movement... we will do more videos on smash as it is easier to explain showing how its done as opposed to explaining it through text. But thank you for a good question. I hope my reply shed light to your question. 🏸🏸

    • @tamalbhattacharjee8384
      @tamalbhattacharjee8384 Před 4 lety +1

      Oh yes, I think I've just realized what you wanted to convey and it sums up to the fact smashing depends on one's natural movement. In my case, the rotation of the wrist/flexion also works. Thanks po

      Thank you for your comment. You found the videos informative probably bec i keep reinforcing what I teach. Not everyone can grasp an idea or thought hearing it one time. Of course you have the right to have a prefence for coaches/teachers talking less.
      But one tip to be a better player is to control one’s temperament; otherwise your opponent will just annoy you to beat you. If you can’t control your emotions, you can’t control the shuttle😁🏸
