I relapsed out here December of 2020. Almost lost my life. Woke up in an ambulance after doing 1 bag of dope. I hadn't used in almost 2 years until that point. I struggled for 4 month's. Eventually got a sponsor worked a program of AA and I've been clean now a year and 4 months. Had my first child December 2021 and have another baby on the way. That experience changed me and I turned my life around a complete 360. Paterson is the wild wild west for drugs. Never seen anything like it other than Kensington Pennsylvania. Thank God every day that I'm still here

I never in my life seen anything like that its truly mindblowing real shit!!! Real life zombie land on Kensington ave and Allegheny ave!!! 🤦🏽‍♂️🤧🤕🤯💔😔 shit kinda breaks my heart to see all the people that are stranded down tHere well they made the choice to go down there and try the drugs smh 🤦🏽‍♂️

Hello Mr Charlie let me tell you how much I love Paterson NJ ever since 1967 it has been my home and I plan to be buried here. Raised in the Bronx I found Paterson more relaxing and a little country style. In October I'll be 55yrs half my life. Yes it has it's bad streets so I just stay away from those neighborhoods. I'll be 76yrs in Sept. Came to Paterson at the age of 21yrsold. I've seen it change.

Many of the old factories and dye houses were converted to multi-unit dwellings over the years as the textile industries started to move South to avoid unionization... I live 14 minutes from where this video started. A block before there's the Library and the chicken joint across the street. I've been up and down all those streets in the past. In fact, growing up I lived right up the street and I went to PS School #6. Later some other schools, then the Home of the Mighty Ghost! Joe Clark was no Joke. Paterson has gotten better in some ways, but not in others. Covid19 impacted the downtown area crippling what was an already hurting group of small businesses. Center city Mall and the mall on upper Main St, seem to be holding there own. I've been away from Paterson and after a while you do miss being here. It's home, would I recommend living here? Perhaps not in the worst zones but there's Passaic NJ, Clifton NJ, Elmwood Park area. You live in areas where your income can sustain you. That's all IMHO, facts! 💯

This title and some of these comments from people that only see a CZcams video or a news report of the bad things that happen make it sounds like the town is a no go war zone like in one of those war countries, like Pakistan, Afghanistan etc. But like some other mentioned before, yes the city has its bad places and if you don’t know the area you might find yourself in some real trouble, but some people here are just commenting out of ignorance. An one point if information for someone that mentioned that they are drugs on every corner, which is obviously an ignorant comment, but what he/she neglected to mentioned that the main customers of those drugs points are the kids from the privileged surrounding nice neighborhood, like Wayne, Clifton, Totowa, Fairlawn, some as far as Mahwah. Those towns are the ones that keeps those corners in business to supply those privileged kids with the cheap drugs they craved. And have you seen most of prostitutes on the streets, they are young Caucasian women they are not from Paterson they are supply from those nice neighboring towns. Those towns are just like your bad neighbor, they keep their yard clean by dumping their garbage on your. But sssshhh they won’t tell you that. Good day.

I was bummed because my man was reliable and always in the same spot for months day and night. but he was like “I’m gonna be over there from now on” and he pointed like ten yards up across the street. Paterson is a shit hole. It’s sad, too, because there’s so much history in that city. All these old warehouses and factories that were BOOMING back in the day. Paterson was the place to be. Go take a look at some of the absolutely stunning g houses near Eastside Park and tell me you’re still in Paterson. Unfortunately, you go a few blocks past in either direction and wearing the wrong shoe laces will almost certainly get you killed. It’s a damn shame.

Depends what part of the video. Beginning is going up broadway towards the eastside, then rosa parks thru the 4th ward heading toward 3rd ward/Riverside ending at Lyon St. Hes also driving down West Broadway past Belmont Ave toward Presidential Blvd to cross over the bridge into downtown. A bunch of other spots too just listing a few of the main blocks that cut thru one side of the city to another.

Not sure what the point of this video was. Filming discreetly while driving and without notice is wrong. I don’t think anyone shown agreed to be filmed. Anyone can find out how dangerous these streets are based on crime data that’s accessible online. I lived in Paterson all of my life and I grew up in near the streets that you were filming. All you see in this video are people being outside. Shows like Cops can depict how dangerous Paterson is., but this video doesn’t do that.
