This makes a lot of sense, the zero point is destabilized because it was taken by Rex, who doesn't have the powers to control rifts.
Drift has this power and it should have been him who took the energy of the zero point without destabilizing it.
But you know, the Devourer tore off his arm, so he couldn't.
