I just want to say I love your videos of this trip, because I take this same trip to go visit my family in Amsterdam, and vice versa. It always brings back the good memories of watching these videos of ams to sfo, and sfo to ams

thank you, this is helpful as i have an upcoming flight. is the pre landing meal like an hour-ish before landing or more? also do you remember if they dimmed the lights inside the plane at some point or not? I’m a bit confused since this is my first long flight and while it is daytime in netherlands it is still nighttime-dawn in sf.
I remember that the pre landing snack comes earlier than 1 hour before the landing actually. In general the light is dimmed, but since that direction is a daytime flight, the cabin was not really dark, but the crew did dim the windows I think.
At least you had a jetbridge, unlike most flights there that use buses.

Oh difficult to say for me actually since I don't much pay attention to that, but as I remember there are some games included and also a kids movie section. There is also a parental Control possibility.

As far as I can tell, the seat itself has no difference on -9 or -10, same the pitch; but I might be wrong... The KLM 787-10s are younger than the -9s I guess, but I didn't notice really a difference
We are Flying to San F next Month. It looks like okay legroom? Im tall - 2 meters, im not looking for luxury, but is there okay room in economy? :)
I am only 1.80m but compared to other airlines in Economy Class, for example Lufthansa or Air France, KLM Dreamliner pitch seems to be a little more, but I don't have a number.

I would NEVER fly long haul in cattle class. This is torture!
Unfortunately not everyone can afford to fly a dozen times per year Business Class on long haul flights; an to be with the family no flight is a torture.

Well, I am only an early pensioner due to disability, so my pension ain't that great. So, I save my money until I can afford to pay for a decent flight. If I don't have the money, I stay home. Even if I had family far away, flying in economy would be a big fat NO!

It’s not that bad. KLM has decent seats and enough legroom (I can almost fully stretch out). Also, the food is quite good in quantity and quality. You can also chose premium economy which is not as pricey as business class but offers more room and comfort than standard economy
