    I'm a Emirates 777 FO for about 2 years plus. Do I see myself in Emirates for 15 years? Maybe Yes Maybe No.
    Emirates is a great company don't get me wrong, but it's the currency we earn in Dirhams that is not strong enough in my opinion.
    Many I know in Emirates are interested in upcoming RiyahAir on 787 Dreamliner fleet.
    Higher Salary, better benefits.
    To all inspiring pilots please bear in mind that pilot of any airlines flights are havoc. Your schedule timing is all over the place.
    Many sleepless day, your body is quite screwed up always.
    When you layover and wake up. 3 questions always.
    Where am I?
    What time is it?
    What country am I at now?
    Ain't complaining, but pilot is one of the best jobs in the world.

      I do regular flight to Europe and states, so there's pros and cons.
      Everywhere got has their pros and cons of course there's no best job in the world.
      Also bear in mind, You're in debt even before you start earning.
      For inspiring pilots go and try full motion simulator before you take up flying

      Hey thank you for the reply. I recorded couple of videos about Riyadh Air. I'll be sharing soon. However you know, you are also pilot, pilots love talking but don't take initiative quite often. Therefore, I strongly believe that those who say they will go to Riyadh Air will stay wherever they are. I have seen this example too many times in my career :)

    Hi caner can you please answer these 3 following questions because i couldn't find the answer anywhere
    1- you mentionned in a video that you've went to flight school in florida and the first airline that you worked for is turkish airlines. If i am not wrong if you want to make direct entry as an F/O you need at least 1500 hours of flight time but you were a new pilot . How did you exactly do that?
    2- united airlines have so many hubs do you get to choose where to live or do the airline assign it to you
    3- At emirates you were a 777 pilot but now you're back at the 737 . Did you make that change or did the airline do it ? And if it's the airline choice can you change it by yourself ?

      Turkish Airlines gives you opportunity to be a pilot after several exams and 2 years of education in the schools that they have contract with. After you get your Frozen ATPL you start in a narrow body aircraft as FO. Education cost is cutting from your sallary. But this is only for Turkish citizens.
      He left Turkish airlines after 1500 hours of flying.

    • @CanerAcarbay
      @CanerAcarbay  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hey thanks for the questions.
      1-) There is no 1500 hours rule in Europe. It's only in the USA. I had 200 hours and CPL and I started flying a B737. This is very common in Europe :)
      2-) You can ultimately choose where to live as long as your relative seniority can hold and company need a pilot in that base.
      3-) I did make the change. I wanted to fly B737 again for various reasons. The biggest reason was relative seniority grows faster on B737 than anything else. By flying B737, I can control my life better :)

    Hello,
    Do Emirates airlines pilots get paid for Deadhead? and if not, is it included in your monthly productivity?
    Also are you paid for Standby duty (on call)? and if not, how it’s calculated in your monthly productivity?
    Also if you can add to it how is your current company deals with those situations?
    Thank you

    • @CanerAcarbay
      @CanerAcarbay  Před 7 měsíci

      Great questions.
      Emirates Pilots are paid 100% of DH flying. It is counted as 'normal flying' when it comes to productivity. They are not getting paid for standby duty because they are guaranteed to earn basic salary even they don't fly. Hence, their monthly flying is not changing their take home salary that much. for an FO, It's approximately 1500 USD salary difference if you fly in a month a lot or you don't fly at all.

    • @fhdhsn2041

      I didn’t say inflation. I said pay rise. Unfortunately, Emirates recently is not matching the salaries with Inflation. Instead, they match it in other forms such as high profit sharing etc. We are looking for a realistic approach in a conservative approach. If you think that each year you will get 3 percent increase, you are wrong. You can share your estimate and we can discuss about it:)
