Electric Railroaders' Italy Tour 2012. Scenes of regular Opicina line service and our fantrip car. Also brief views of Translohr rubber tired trams in Venice (Mestre) and Padua.
Does anyone know if and when the exercise will be restored? If this particular narrow-gauge tramway were located in Switzerland, without a shadow of a doubt they would be making tons of francs out of it. The steep section of the twin* Renon tramway has been replaced by an aerial funicular, but at least the flat section is still alive and well! *Twin because originally also the steep section of the Trieste - Opicina interurban tramway was equipped with a toothed rail (rack) instead of a wire rope system. Both (Renon and Trieste - Opicina) date back to the time of the mythical Austro-Hungarian empire
@@KironManuelCards Of course ! I've never heard of it. Thank you for your attention. I welcome the opportunity to extend cordial and distinguished greetings
