The 'Forward Fitting'

  • The inner apron is shaped, the canvas is sewn in place, now it's time to call the client in for the 'forward' fitting.
    I do it at this point in the construction process because if I have to correct something I can do so without undoing too much of my work.
    This is part of my ongoing campaign to ensure that the client is - and KNOWS he is - getting his money's worth.
    nb; in this video the kilt looks to be hanging crooked on the client, but I assure you that it's not so.

    Hi Robert!!! how long are your leather stripes? at the moment I do a Kilt with your videos. Now I'm as fare, that I can do the same like in your video. ..... But first I have to go to the furrier to get those stripes. (sorry for my Englisch, it is not really good)kind regards Chrissi

      Hello Chrissi! I cut my straps so that they are between 15cm and 18cm long.
      - and your English is far, far better than my German or my French (I need to hear a language spoken constantly or I forget it all within weeks!)
