Hey guys, there's a new version of this tutorial! It has a lot more info and teaches a lot more stuff.
Check it out here: czcams.com/video/T246OkFv9P0/video.html
Valeu cara!!!!
When you press "R" key Google Earth returns the view to be vertical and making north directly upside, briefly resets the view ;)
Really useful tip MoTab! Thanks a lot 😁
@@LearnUpstairs But not worth a heart, right? :P
Joke aside, I guess it will be better if you pin the comment, so everyone can see it ;)
"N" Rotates to North also!

The tutorial was really great!!! You taught quite a lot of commands in just 13 mins. Also the end result is amazing. Very helpful video
This video is too good and I'm shocked its free. People charge a big price for the bare minimum and this masterpiece is absolutely free. God bless you for that🥰
Hi, I just want to tell you that *I'm so glad* that I found this cause it's really useful for my project and interesting to learn :D Although I'm still a beginner in photoshop renderings, I found your video to be really informative and I could easily follow your instructions. Again thanks so much for this vid!
oh god, that’s exactly what I need to improve in my projects. And fortunately CZcams decided to show this video on main page, that’s insanely lucky. Thanks for a tutorial!
You have amazing tutorials to follow along! i'm a noob at photoshop, but just doing exactly what you do makes it easy to figure out general steps. It gives me a much greater idea of what photoshop is capable of!
Amazing didn’t realize 13min had passed. I dedicate any good grades or praise I get to you 🙌🏻
Thank you!! I guess that means you enjoyed the video 😀😀
Just came up with a method that's not as "destructive" as color range if anyone's interested.
- Convert the layer for the satellite image into a smart object
- Go to Filter > Camera Raw Filter
- When the window opens, go to HSL adjustments > Saturation, and completely desaturate all color ranges except the 2 ranges of green
Hope it will be helpful to someone
Thanks 😁
I would suggest using vector paths, especially if you have to deal with smooth curves, like on highways for example. This option also gives you an opportunity to easily experiment with different lineweights, strokes and other brush settingss.
Great point 👍
Omg this is amazing! Thanks for sharing us ❤️❤️
the end result is so beautiful
Thank you so much! I have to present next week and this will definitely elevate my project!!! You're a life savor. I owe my good grades to you!!!
That's great to hear Viviana! Thanks for this feedback. I'm here to help! 😄
I just have to thank you, brother! Your job really helps me, I improve my presentations thanks to you. Have a good day sir, you deserve.
Thanks a lot for your feedback Marco! 🙏
There is also Google Map Customizer. Instead of outlining the road by hand you can use this page to just select road import in photoshop and magoc wand it to delete the gaps between roads. It-s much faster.
But this helped on the General aesthetic for my project.
Thanks 👍❤
hii ! how ?
It's Aaron Cheng map customizer. @@fatimaguillen8078 and then you export it as jpg or screenshot it and edit in Photoshop or other programme
Thanks, this will help me later in my University projects
Thanks, Oliver, this was super helpful for my project. Keep doing what you're doing
This is life changing..can’t wait for my next school project to try it!! Thank u ☺️
Used this once in my bachelors and was told by my professors it looked professional.. In my masters now, me back haha ^^
Amazing tutorial ;) Thank you!
I thought "never am I gonna need to use this tut, ever" but let's see. Then Ctrl+Alt+Shift+E drops and now that's the best shortcut ever since copy paste.
For high res images (posters) there are various tools that allow you to grab the tiles.
Just followed this, and it came out pretty good for a first attempt, thks man
OHMYGOD. THIS IS SO GOOD!!!! THANKYOUUU!!
It was awesome . I just used it for one of my project in my portfolio and I feel great about it . Thank you for making such videos.
Hi Parisa! I'm glad I could help 😁. Thanks a lot!

Thank you for sharing your talented skill. I have just discovered your channel via surviving architecture. Your instructions are so clear and easy to follow. I look forward to learn more from your videos in the future:)
Thanks for the detailed feedback Tiger Lily! Welcome to Upstairs 😄

I love the part where you convert it to smart object then use the camera raw.... Absolute genius.
I realized it was so helpful just a couple of months ago. Before then I had to redo all the steps with camera raw if I needed to fix anything 😅
Had no idea those options exdisted!!! Thanks a lot, going to master in my class next year 😎😎😎

thanks your best job. from south Korea.
Daayum this is amazingggg
Thanks a lot from Korea
Far easier to do all this in Illustrator. That way the lines remain clean and you can adjust thicknesses, colour, and things like dot pattern and fills.
It remains resolution independent and you can also import into After Effects if you need animations.
@Fancy Not at all.
You just have to drop all the preconceptions you have with Photoshop and bitmaps.
For general graphics work, it is far superior in many ways. Take time to learn it, they have many commonalties.
I feel that they are both different softwares for different tasks. But I also think that it is far easier to do in illustrator, specially the streets, regarding the strokes and widths.
But when it comes the part where you need to swap the river color, select the greens, apply effect to individual pixels, Photoshoo is the tool that can perform these operations.
You gotta choose a different mal style if you want to go with Illustrator. But at the end of the day, both softwares are different, one is not better than the other one, but there were made to deal with vector or pixels
@@LearnUpstairs I disagree. I have done entire maps using Illustrator. There are brush techniques you can use to effect colour. Sure, it's not a photorealistic effect, but it all depends on the look you are after.
On top of that, you can swap between the two as they both accept each others files.
Oh yes! Using both of them at the same is the best workflow. For personal projects I always use this process. The best of both worlds 😉
Thanks for pointing it out! On the videos I usually try to find a middle ground and use a workflow that most people are used to. But I'm always open to the watchers opinions, cheers!
@@LearnUpstairs I do think too many people automatically jump to Photoshop as a fix-all, (not that I am against it, i have been using it since version 2.0), but it is always good to know what options one has available, and Illustrator is just as powerful, but far less well known or understood. I am a motion graphics designer, so I need both, along with many other software applications, but they are always my go-to's.
Muchas gracias!!
this is so useful thanks
ey! thank you very much, i dont speak english and this video it helped me a lot!!
Thank you so much!!!!
Hi nice video. Do you know if Google or the source of the aerial photo should be credited when using their images, and if so how to do it correctly?
I know it might be shocking to some... I dont like your videos
' automatic language of subtitles XD I always have to switch it to english. great job man, as always. Thank you for uploading ;)
😂😂
Thank you for this
Thank for your feedback Kon! I left a reply on your other comment about the 1, 2, 3 😀
this was very useful thank you!
great effort man keep doing!
Thank you 🙏
Increíble 🤯...... ‼️ Gracias por los subtitulos.... En español..... ‼️
thank you so much
Thank you sir! You did really well and you help me a alot! But just one thing I wanna ask you, how do you get your street map I mean that road you put it on a second layer?
Just an idea: you can go to Google maps, select the roads option, then open the image with ps and use the magic wand. Haven't ever tried it though
SAME QUESTION
awesome! Thank you
AWESOME!!!!!!!! Thanks
that was dope!
Hi lovely, I hope you are well. Any chance you can do a video how to prepare contours file for laser cutting starting from importing digimap or google earth into CAD? How to prepare contours laser cut file from scratch? We couldn't find any videos on you tube. Also laser cut site model. I look forward to watch more of your videos soon. Have a great day:)
Really amazing video!
Thanks Arie!
how did you get the road image ?
Great job!
That was amazing
Great work
This is amazing
I'm rewatching this since there's something that I missed out on:
Do you do this before doing work in cad/bim, or afterwards?
Muito bom!
