  • Valgus Osteotomy is the best salvage option for proximal femur fractures nonunion, especially neck femur and trochanteric fractures. The current video sums up the basic technical part to make the understanding better and in a simplified manner.

      Thanks! The basic angle calculation is what Pauwel had described as 25 degrees to achieve optimal compression as a nonunion site. The paper (Principles of Valgus Intertrochanteric Osteotomy (VITO) after Femoral Neck Nonunion): www.hindawi.com/journals/aorth/2018/5214273/ provides a good review of that. The implant positioning angle is not specifically described in a paper and is just to make understanding easier.
