In this video I cover the iSCSI (Internet Small Computer System Interface) SAN protocol. iSCSI runs over Ethernet networks, and was originally designed as a less expensive alternative to Fibre Channel.

It's a pleasure to watch you give a lecture again. I took your ccna course on Udemy a few years ago and I enjoyed every bit of it. Thanks, Neil!
Thank you for sharing this informative video - the last diagram especially helped understand the differences between FC, FCoE and iSCSI succinctly!
Great video 👍
10:28 -- the side-by-side comparison of three SAN Protocol Stacks is very clear.
Kindest regards, neighbours and friends.
Thanks for the free course. Appreciate that, is very important for me because I cannot pay for it. Thanks
Great video,really informative.
Thank you. very good summary and to the point. wondering if you could add the Fiber channel frame format?
Thank you the summary. That was very informative!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you Sir. Great insight.
Thank you
What if target storage ip and server management ip are in same vlan, will it generate traffic related issues
Good course . Can you share the link for Iscsi demo class with NetApp cluster mode ?
Ok
Can you guide in SAN Storage configuration from basic ,like creation of LUN,use of LMV etc.
Hi Abhishek, I cover the complete configuration of the storage system from start to finish in my NetApp course: www.flackbox.com/netapp-training-course HTH, Neil
Cheers for the video @Flackbox - are you Aberdonian ?
Hi Leezer, I was born in Inverness but moved to Aberdeen when I was 9 and all my family are from there - the Dons are my team. And then I have a kinda weird accent because I joined the forces at 17 and none of us could understand each other. Cheers, Neil
@@Flackbox haha, you still sound Aberdonian to me! I live in the centre, spent the majority of my life in Bucksburn. Really appreciated the video, I've subbed to your channel too.
I graduated a year and a half ago at RGU in networking, been working service desk for a year and 4 months, an internal position has opened up for a infrastructure/cloud analyst. Trying to get an idea of what to expect for interview questions! I'm good with networks and also learned a lot about security but this is another ball park.
I've built a homelab with esxi/proxmox, my own domain etc but there is only so much you can do on personal kit.
I'll be sure to watch more of your videos when I get a minute. Cheers
Hi Leezer, you can check out my free Intro to Cloud course if you need a cloud interview, you can find it on the homepage at www.flackbox.com. Good luck in the interview!
