    I started using Nivea 33 years ago when I had this huge wrinkle line down my face from sleeping on only one side. The line down my face went away after a couple months. I use this every day and every night and even under my make-up. Proud to say I look 20 years younger than most 63 year women thanks to NIVEA. 🌻😎🌻

    • @Nat.ali.a
      @Nat.ali.a Před rokem +60

      @Supreme Star Light Nivea creme has Pantenol and Lanolin both rich hydrating and emollient AND regenerative. If your mother didn’t use in her face is because she didn’t want to. The fact is that your personal opinion can’t take the credibility from a product that is 110 years in the market with many swearing by it. La Mer is just Nivea with seaweed , seaweed would only give a calming effect to the skin which you can get using any aloe serum before the Nivea. Price does not equal value. The price is because it is marketed for a luxury product, and as any luxury brand it uses some celebrities to add value to its inflated price.

    • @Nat.ali.a
      @Nat.ali.a Před rokem +26

      @Supreme Star Light You write fallacies as if it was true. You deny pantenol and lanolin regenerative properties, which is tested and proved in the medicine thus it is used even treating severe burned people. You say you spent 100k on products to give you credibility as if it was true, even if it is, it only shows you don’t know how to spend money on the right products. Dermatologists already said there is nothing in La Mer to justify its price, all the ingredients are deep moisturizers nothing more. You will get better results applying retinoic acid with any other deep moisturizer if you are over 60. It won’t cost you 100k and you will have results actually proven by years of research.

    Licensed Esthtetician here: Based on the ingredient deck, and the seaweed component in the LaMer, is a form of lactic acid. Lactic acid, in itself helps exfoliate the skin, soothes the skin, and can help with rosacea. If you want the benefits of the LaMer, but with a much better price point, you could add a lactic acid serum, or peel pad to you routine, and stick with the Nivea for moisture. Also an FYI, LaMer is owned by Estée Lauder, and Nivea owns La Praire.

I can read the ingredients/components. Why does everybody think I will automaticly buy it because I have money. ("Why not, you can afford it?"). It's not that I can't, I don't want to, because it isn't worth more then a Nivea, probably less. And no, it's not a status symbol, it's just a way of showing your brain capabilities.

I buy paraffinum liquidum (Vaseline oil) for farmacuitcal use in the pharmacy and it's plant based, not a mineral oil derivate. As a matter a fact, it's been used for ages in Italy even as a mild occasional laxative (a tablespoon or two before going to bed). (I have been working w La Mer for a few yrs).La Mer has different versions of their creme. The original creme IS suggested for dry to very dry skin. They have a (soft creme) which is much lighter and doesn't require you warm it up with your hands. They recommend the soft creme for normal and combo skins. They also offer a lotion in a pump, which is for combo/oily skins. And lastly, they have a mattifying gel for oily to very oily skins. So everyone has 4 choices. All 4 versions contain the same active seaweed (broth) complex that La Mer is known for, which helps heal and protect the skin. The only difference in the 4 cremes/lotions is the texture to help give the user, their preferred texture based on their skin type and what they like to use. If you don't like the original, you have 3 other options that can still give you the results! Enjoy!

      @kiarakiara8014 exactly 💯, and a little goes a long way, even with this texture! I like to apply the soft creme immediately after a serum, while the skin is still damp. If you scoop a tiny amount, on your fingertips,(both hands) you can massage both sides of your face in an upward/outward motion, and up your neck and jaw, from your collarbone. This will lift up the skin, smooth the creme, use less product overall and create circulation that will give instant glow!! It's a WIN WIN!! ♥️♥️

      I love Nivea in the winter, but I find it too heavy in the summer for everyday use and it's great on sensitive skin aswell! When my 5 yearold broke out with eczema all over her body a very good old dermatologist told me that when she wasn't red or inflamed, I could give her Nivea and she grew out of it at some point of elementary school. I don't know how american version of Nivea is, but I cann't live without the one they sell here in Europe. My granny and parents used Nivea and I cann't live without it! I tried other variants of Nivea, but the only indispensable is the tin one!

      @blackeneddove Idk about your eczema, but 15 years ago, I went through it with my kid. A pediatric dermatologist told me then to never again use steroid creams topicly on the skin of my child, unless I wanted my kid to have to live with eczema for the rest of the life! Steroid cream was what the pediatrician prescribed to give some solace while we had to book and attend the visit with the dermatologist. He also explained that steroid creams can make your eczema disappear while you're using them, but it's not a real cure, becouse as soon as you stop, it comes back and the sideffect of treating skin with steroid creams repeatedly and for long periods of time is that it weakens it even more and the damage then becomes permanent and the skin in treated areas remains thinner, more frail and eczema prone. They didn't know that back in the day (he was in his late seventies then), so dermatologists used to prescribe a bunch of steroids, and then when they figured out what was going on, they stopped. He told me that all the eczema requires is hydration, hydration and more hydration, he also recommended patience and constance and assured that the results would follow and that the skin needs time to heal, grow and "strengthen up". I did exactly as told: applying a specific cream topicly twice a day on flaired up parts, and if it was extradry and flakey, I could dilute the cream with Nivea. Every time my kid took a shower, after treating the eczema, I'd hydrate her from head to toe with Nivea. It was tough: she had outbreaks all over the body except face, hands and genitalia! She was so loaded in the beginning that it would take me even up to 30 minutes each time just to apply the cream topicly on the flared up parts! Bottom line, I persevered and I never took my kid back for a check up or a follow up since egzema became manageable and improved, and my kid that started out with eczema at age 5, simply grew out of it at some point of elementary school and never contracted it since and has got a great skin now. As time went by and she was getting better and better, I switched from Nivea to natural body oils that I use, becouse it was faster and easier to apply, plus kids need autonomy... I have friends that have to live with egzema and the most damaged of all people I know is my mother-in-law and now that she's in her eighties the skin where she used to apply steroids is so thin compared to the rest that she's not just eczema prone, but irritation and infection prone aswell and you can see that with just a glance, becouse it's so evident all year round.

    I am German and I use it on the face mostly in the cold season and only in the evening so it can be absorbed overnight. It’s also good for feet and hands and dry lips. I think most households in Germany have a big blue tin of Nivea. It’s a staple.

    I've used La Mer original cream since it's launch in the UK, pretty much (around year 2000) Costco members get a big discounted rate. I don't use 95% of the range of Mer, nothing like but it has always worked like a dream for me, when following the instructions. It's also great for healing blisters caused by shoes too. I've been begging them for a fragrance-free version for years; that's my only quibble.

    Thank you for making this video and doing such a comprehensive real-life test. I tried La Mer a long time ago (20 years) and liked it a lot. I also liked the lovely scent, and a little seemed to go far, primarily since I only used it as a night cream. I even bought a second jar. I didn't do a comparative photo test back then, but I thought it might help with my slight rosacea. I didn't continue buying La Mer afterward because it was so expensive, but I tried some other very nice high-end products, just not as expensive as La Mer.
    Three years after my initial experience with La Mer, and due to getting some "real people modeling" work, I decided to buy a bottle of La Mer "The Concentrate" serum, because that product has the most seaweed concentrate. I used that serum along with other high end creams for quite a while and although I didn't realize it at the time, it was really doing a great job, because my skin looked good and didn't seemed to have aged during that time. It had good texture, and it helped with the slight rosacea patch on my check. It was only after I ran out did I noticed my skin starting to look "older" and more wrinkles around the eye area. So, I concluded, using La Mer's "The Concentrate" + other high-end creams had kept my skin younger looking. I considered buying getting another bottle but the already expensive price had gone up.
    Fast-forward to the present: I have now used a few other high-end skincare creams for anti-aging. Some I like a lot, ie. L'Occitane's Divine Cream, although sometimes it is too rich if I'm in a humid locale. I started using Divine Cream because L'Occitane participated in a third party test with women using Divine Cream on half their face, and whatever they used before on the other half. The women reported dramatic differences saying that the different halves of their face looked like two different people. (The study also tested other luxury creams and Divine Cream beat out the competition.)
    I'm currently using Sulwhasoo's products because I bought a trial box and love it! It's also expensive, so when I finish using what I have, I'll have to think about what I'm going to use next. Anyway, giving my prior experience, your video is making me consider using La Mer's "The Concentrate" again. 🤔It's just crazy expensive.

    There are much cheaper creams with algae or similar in . Elemis pro-collagen marine cream isn't cheap as Nivea, but is much more affordable than Le Mer.

    I've been using LaMer for about a year now and love how my 70-year-old face looks. When I'm at the LaMer counter in Nordstrom the sales lady always gathers other sales ladies and brings them over to guess my age. The guess is always late 40's. I must admit that I have always had great skin with no wrinkles but I am starting to get a little Jawl shagging. After a year my skin is still great and I am just now replacing my LeMer creams. They last a long time.

    I'd use La Met if I could, but I got no money. I don't have rosacea or oily or problem skin. Nivea creme is wonderful for me, it's kept me soft and beautiful for a ridiculous low price. It's a miracle in a jar! The kind I get is in the 13.5 oz blue glass tub. It's made in Mexico, and it's as thick as cream cheese! I would not recommend it for anyone with oily skin, however. It's got mineral oil, petrolatum, microcrystalline wax, lanolin alcohol, and paraffin. Definitely not for oily skin or acne!!

Given the price tag of La Mer I would rather invest that money for my retirement (since I have been doing since my mid 20's). I had a friend who would spend $2K on this cream every year. Although her skin was beautiful she was dirt broke. I will stay with my tried and true NIVEA creme. Having great skin is not going to pay for my senior meds when I grow older.

    I went through the same guilt horror or buying la mer then I actually finally tried it. It is amazing. I'm a bit older than you so I leveled up to the genaissance line which is also ungodly expensive, but the infused lotion is really the holy grail it dose it all and surprisingly lasts quite a long time. I swim 4 days a week and it dries my skin out unbelievably. This product brings my skin back immediately it sinks right in and nothing is wasted. I also use the eye cream that is also delightful. Try the oil it is also a great product you can add it to your other skin care/makeup and it turns it into the smooth looking cream. Can you review the Victoria Beckham skin care line I would be interested in what you think. Thanks

    What a good idea to try this out! Love the research and effort you put in this video❤But:
    -The flare ups on the Nivea side can very well be because of the fragrance or the difference in one or more of the ingredients.
    -Cold creams break up make up.☹️ And Nivea screams cold cream.
    -More bang for your buck and the science to back them up (Mario Badesco/ Seaweed Night Cream or OSEA/Advanced Protection Cream and The Seaweed Bath&Co Body cream. All three fragrance and cruelty free
    (Fun facts) Nivea now has quite an array of different skincare lines, even a non fragranced sos balm for baby's. This is the most original version. It's a cold cream, an emulsion of water in a larger amount of oil (CeraVe moisturizing cream in another example). The water evaporates on your skin, leaving a nice sheen of the oil. Cold creams (Ponds still has one) were predominantly used to remove make up in the first half of the previous century.

She had the worst diet on the planet....sweets and coffee and never did any exercise beyond walking through out her shift (she was an RN) and loved cleaning her house. AND she sunbathed all the time (either sun or sun lamp) using baby oil and iodine....SO, I believe genetics plays a HUGH role in how we age more so than what Women put on their skin

    I am in my early 40’s and tried Nivea for a long period of time. For a person of my age with combination skin I said this lamer has got to be hype! I bought a small kit of the eye crème, lamer moisturizer, the concentrate, and the treatment lotion for 3 months. First off that tiny mini kit lasted me 3 months as a tiny amount does the job…and I mean tiny the size of your pinky. So that says a lot that for twice a day I only needed two pinky sizes of each product. I noticed my face looked incredibly healthy, my makeup was looking much better,and my overall appearance was just healthier. I then bought the cream, eye cream,and concentrate. Looking beautiful it lasted me. Year.I stopped using it to save money and looking at my pictures from six months ago to now a huge difference.Now repurchasing and using two weeks again of lamer and I’m back to looking and feeling Amazing. So it does work , as far as cost the small version minis last two to three month, the small regular versions a year, so it’s well worth it in my opinion. If you are skeptical try their mini set. I’m betting you like me will not be able to deny it is worth it.
