Do we know what happened to the other two models? The "shortened" model used for Cinemascope shots and then other 22 foot 1/3rd model used for the surface ship attack high-speed, glowing lights scenes, plus a few others?
The "squeezed" Nautilus was more of a prototype that was never used in the final film. The 22ftr, was taken by someone for years and put in a pond, but it has since disappeared, probably destroyed.
Well, to be fair, it is an old, beat up, metal model that was heading to the trash before 2 fans got involved and saved it. The work was done by someone who had worked on planes. (Welding and such) among other various metal projects.
Thank you!
Fantastic! Nice slow camera moves so we can see the many details on this fabulous miniature used in the film. Thanks for posting.
You're welcome 😁

Where is this located? The last time I saw this model was at the exit of The Living Seas in Epcot, but then it was removed.
I'm not sure anymore. Last I knew it was in Chicago. But then it left either last month of before that sometime.
Wow, it's in really poor condition. Lot's of amateur repair work all over it. Disney should do better for such an iconic prop.
