It is part of the renowned Panch Kedar pilgrimage circuit, which includes Kedarnath, Rudranath, Madhyamaheshwar, and Kalpeshwar. According to Hindu mythology, Tungnath is where the arms of Lord Shiva appeared when he transformed into a bull to evade the Pandavas from the Mahabharata. The trek to Tungnath is relatively short but steep, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Chaukhamba.
