Hot Wheels Collection Reveal - 1968 to 1973 Models - An Odd Mix?

Here is a very odd mix of early Hot Wheels models from 1968 to 1973 that just came in. Collections like this are a bit on the risky side because from the offered photos that were set to me it appears that every car may have serious wear or other issues. As a lifelong collector my goal is to find the finest examples of Hot Wheels models from 1968 to 1972. These are my years for collecting. I do not collect the 1973 to 1977 models because those are just way to scarce for me and I did not have them as a child. I was born in 1958 and so Hot Wheels came out when I was 10. By that time I was naturally a Matchbox collector already for 4 or 5 years. And by 1972 I was in high school and only thinking about my car, a 1969 Pontiac Catalina!

That pair of lime Porsche 917s takes me back. My own lime 917 was one of my favorites when I was a kid. Maybe someday someday, I'll replace that one that I had back then. My son got pissed at me one day and flattened most of my childhood collection out front on the sidewalk with a brick about 30 years ago, the 917 included.
