  • In this video we'll be making the Phoenix version 3.5, by Satoshi Kamiya. The standout feature of this model is it's tail, being about 3 times as long as the entire body. The wings are also very intricate, making for a beautiful model.
I used 60cm tissue foil in the video. I would HIGHLY recommend using double tissue paper instead. Want to learn how to make it? Check out this video: • How To Make Double Tis...

I just finished this model following your tutorial. It's the most difficult model i've ever made. It took me a month and half and four scrapped models to make it. That makes me appreciate your effort even more. You are really clear and concise in your instructions. Thank you and greetings from Colombia.

thanks a lot! I really appreciate it. It took me close to 12 hours because my 48x48cm paper was too thick. Without this video I probably wouldn't be able to complete this, but I did! I'll use some cmc to stick the parts that are opening up like the legs and the tail and send an image. I'm 13 and with such a thick paper it was really hard, but it turned out half decent.

A head that it is not like the 3.5 at all. And I haven't found anything about how to make the legs. If I had good tutorials of all those parts, I really could plan to make the whole thing with no problems... a3 paper is too small, you need to use very large tissue paper coated it methyl cellulose, and you need to make the folds all by yourself using the instructions in "the works of satoshi kamiya 2"

I know this is old but is there any part in particular that you're struggling with? Do you have diagrams or only the cp? I've folded the lyrebird I think 6 times now; I've nowhere near mastered it but I understand how the different parts fit together.
