Just to show the impact of this show. I'm an Egyptian girl living in cairo. I bought the VCR of every season when I was 5 and watched them all almost weekly until I was 12. As a kid I loved the action and adventure. As an adult my love for this series has only grown. The art style, voice actors, music, and plot are all phenomenal. I am the animation fan and comic nerd I am today because of this series.
Wow thanks to everyone for their likes and awesome replies! It's great to see so how one show can bring people from all over the world together!

Imagine seeing it as an adult after only knowing the cheesier kid-oriented Batman in every other medium except the comic book version, and recognizing this as the soul of the comic come alive, for the first time done RIGHT. It was so brilliant to watch, I felt like it was made for the older audience directly, and maybe just only tempered a bit to remain palatable to the kids because it happened to be animated. It was weird to be a college student with a real world attraction to a cartoon the same way some would crush on George Clooney or some other actor on television that wasn't 2 dimensional ....

This may be a stretch but I'm in these shows first off for the art & animation. Thats my love. The dceu is great with voices following continuity but the animation is dull & almost loke g.i.joe from Hasbro in the 80's maybe alittle better. Now the recent stuff from timm's side like the jack the ripper story, fatal five, & batman & harley Quinn were not like the animated series but you can see the base of it.

I'm 35 and used to rush home from school to watch this on fox and I still love it to this day. I've seen just about every animated and live action comic book adaption including all of the DCAU movies and yet I still have to say that this series was the best one. The only other possible contenders are the 90s Spider-Man series and x-men. Society and culture was really changing in the 90s,you see this in every aspect of society then. I didn't realize then how lucky I was to grow up during that era.

Mixu the animated series took the best of what had come out of the best of Batman (primarily comics).
Nolan’s trilogies are more like essays on society. Fine but that’s not a definitive Batman:Bruce Wayne.
Frank Miller’s Batman was definitely incorporated in the animated series but not to such a departure of setting as Miller took the Dark Knight.
The New 52? Come on now.

Obviously the original music for the TV show was excellent and deserving of all its praise, but hats off to WB for the added bonus of new music in this documentary. They could have easily just recycled the old music exclusively from the show, and no one would have complained bc as I said, it's great. But whoever did the music for this doc deserves recognition too. Well done!

I’ve really been loving how sympathetic the villains are in this series. They’ve gut-punched me a couple of times still. More than any other adaptation, this version makes you understand why there is an asylum, not a prison, why Batman would risk his life to bring them back, and why he would always try reason with them and try to save them.

One thing I loved about batman particularly in this series was how the cap wrapped around his body. It looked awesome seeing him move like hes gliding across the floor as his cape is around him. The way the city was drawn. The detail . The sky. The voices. The acting. And one thing this series has done that no other animated series has EVER done is touched on a emotional level. When these villains were doomed with their fate being turned into a villain most cases accidentally you felt bad for them. I'll never forget the clayface origins when you see the shadow on the wall of then dumping the mud down his throat. The gasps and cries for help than when his friend finds him. Was truly sad

Either way Batman the animated series was a true masterpiece. Can still remember the feeling when the music came on with Batman jumping through obstacles to save the day. The music just carried it from there and that undescribable feeling comes out of the woodwork followed by the thought that this is not your typical cartoon (especially for those days, if ever, really).
