Just wanted to let you know, every time you call the blue haired girl Sua, it's actually Siyeon lol, Sua never had blue hair :)

Sua generally has black or dark brown hair. They don’t change it too much. It’s because it suits her so well.

She mostly doesn't dye it because she has pretty weak hair; she's particularly susceptible to damage while bleaching.
Cutting it, though, is _absolutely_ off the cards. A while back when doing the Tadow dance cover, she had her hair trimmed into a hime cut to match Seungyeon's, and when SY suggested that it'd look nice if the rest of her hair was as short as the front, SuA made it _quite_ clear that wasn't happening... 😂That Minx-era cut has permanently scarred her...
Their company is so lucky to have them, they are so talented..
And us InSomnia are lucky to have the company, lol. Any other company would've done away with the members after Minx failed.
Don't stress about tell members apart, it took me a while to tell Sua and Siyeon (which you mixed up as well 🤣) and Yoohyeon and Handong (which they admitted their moms do as well 🤣). I hope you check out more of their stuff

For more guides you could take a look at the "This is..." series by insomnicsy. These are 7 minute videos for each of the members and one for the group. They also come in two series now, one from last year and a recent 2021 one.
Yes definetely. And the 'season 1 and season 2 (2021)' have diferente clips so there's a Lot for you to get to know 😊
SuA- sharp thin pointy nose and small heart shaped face, thin lips and small eyes. Always has long hair.
Siyeon- broad round face with very strong jawline, intense eyes, full lips and strong straight but blunt nose. Tall.
The person you were calling SuA is Siyeon. The reason Siyeon looks like a mix of JiU and SuA is because and JiU has soft features on a strong bone structure and SuA has sharp features on a soft bone structure. Siyeon has a mix of both.
A good way to distinguish between Yoohyeon, JiU and Handong later is also this. Yoohyeon has very soft round features on a skinny but full cheeked face, JiU has sharp eyes and strong bone structure and Handong has a long face with strong cheek bones.

Well put. I’d only add that Siyeon’s lips are subject to change depending on the era. There have been at least two, possibly three versions. I personally struggled to differentiate between her and SuA until the lips changed, in the mvs at least. Off-stage, hearing their talking voices and seeing their personalities vastly helped with differentiation.
@@xraysteve siyeon has always had a pretty full lower lip (minx era ombre lip crap not included) while SuA's was always equally thin on top and bottom. The upper lip changes with Siyeon is mostly because of the shades, textures and lip line when she overlines (her upper lip is still pretty small since we've seen glimpses of her without lipstick on). I think I personally never struggled with them because Siyeon has always had a very full baby face while SuA has a very sharp chinned tiny face. But yea the lips are subject to change depending on the styling. Its also because the company was pushing the creepy twins aspect with SuA and Siyeon throughout the first half of the nightmare arc that it got confusing in the mvs.
@@deen4305 Make up can do wonders, I agree. But there is a definite change between Chase Me era and BEcause era that is not make up related. You’ve caused me to look up pictures and know I’m thinking she’s had more than lip fillers done. I can’t put my finger on it per se but there seems to be a fullness in her cheeks now that wasn’t there before. I don’t usually condone messing with the lips because lots of people end up looking freakish but I like what she’s had done.
@@xraysteve i don't really care what people do cause their body is none of my business but i actually disagree, her cheeks and bone structure is pretty much the same, what has changed is something that has changed in everyone with age. Losing the baby fat around the hollows of the cheeks can bring out the entire bone structure and Siyeon always had ridiculously full cheek bones on top of already having a full face, now that the fat is gone you can just see the rounded cheek bones more. Besides surgery is such a non issue considering 80% of the idols have had plastic surgery because of the severe beauty standards and I don't see why Siyeon would go against the korean ideals and nake her face rounder and fuller instead of shaving the jaw, reducing the cheeks and making her lips smaller.
In regards to whatever she did to her lips, I dunno, i still think its some really skilled lip lining because we have seen how thin her upper lip is in the vlive with Jiu from scream and the recent BEcause note.

Yes Sua rap in BEcause, but I think this guide is before BEcause. Mix ups Sua and Siyeon at first is something I think we all go through.

a lot of people are pointing out the sua/siyeon mix ups but you got them both right at 37:07 and 44:28 so I hope you're not too discouraged! i think u can get them down pretty quickly
44:26 I thought you'd get them all right at the end, but then you switched Gahyeon and Yoohyeon! XD It's so funny watching new Somnias confuse the members. I can't even imagine mixing them up anymore, but it took me FOREVER to tell Siyeon and SuA apart, and I went wrong with Yoohyeon and Handong a million times. Their mothers get them mixed up as well, so don't feel bad, it'll pass ;-) Lovely reaction video!

As long as you are having fun then it's all good. I would, as most comments already, suggest the 'This is series...' by Insomnicsy.
Each clip is like 7 mins of each girl and by now there are two of each cause the creator made new edits for 2021 so it's diferente clips.
My suggestion would be to watch both: 'This is Jiu and This is Jiu 2021', then 'This is Sua and This is Sua 2021' and so on.
They are so much fun, provide so much of their personalities and the edit is amazing.

Handong😼and Yoohyeon🐶(pronounced Yoo-(h)eeon, with a nearly silent h) are known as "the twins", even though they weren't even born in the same country. When they're both blondes (like now) and have makeup on, it's nearly impossible to tell them apart. The only way to tell is that Yoohyeon is a bit taller and Handong has a slightly longer face. Same cues you look in actual twins.
Sometimes, it's also difficult to tell Charismatic Rabbit Leader JiU 🐰from Yoohyeon and Handong. Especially now, that they're all blondes for the next comeback in Jan - Feb 2022. They often do the same hairstyles and it doesn't make things easier for new InSomnias. Yoohyeon is the tallest in the group and has a friendlier puppy look. Handong is called Ice Princess for her expression, which can get really funny, when she does it on purpose. Because she's not really a cold person.
I'm so jealous you'll get to discover them from the start. This process is so much fun!

I see you like longer videos, that's great for this. You could start each member video with Insomnicsy's This is ... series.
For Gahyeon's video you could include Esquire Boca live vocal video, is faceography a word? I love that video so much, you could rewatch it and focus on just JiU or Yoohyeon next time (my bias and main wrecker 😍).
For Handong's video you can include the funny Poison Love clip, one of my favourites.
For SuA you probably will need more days, am I right in that she's your bias? Or... you could include some videos in a Spicy video day: did you see Taki Taki, Copycat and Tadow yet?

1:19 there are some misinformation on this part, Dreamcatcher Company is NOT sub label for HappyFace Ent. According to JiU in an interview in 2019, HappyFace Ent. itself is the one who changed their named to Dreamcatcher Company. Basically, Dreamcatcher Company is the main company while HF Music and D1CE Company are their sub label

I still can't get over how people confuse them, they are SO different (said I who just recently learned how to tell Handong and Yoohyeon apart).
Good tips for SuA and Siyeon:
Siyeon is taller.
If you see platinum almost white blond, blue or green hair it's Siyeon.
SuA never had short hair in Dreamcatcher.
SuA have pointy sharp nose and thin lips (and it's beautiful).
Siyeon has strong jawline and intense eye contact.
Also Siyeon often has very strong makeup while SuA's makeup almost always in like natural style.
I know right? I have never mixed siyeon and sua up nor yoohyeon and jiu thats another one thats strange to me. Only one that can potentially be difficult is handong and yoohyeon but that just depends on lighting and angles
One thing that helped me a lot with the whole Sua/Siyeon mix up (that only happened to me with some pictures but was never really an issue) is Sua's nose, she has a very distinctive nose ^^
Not lying right now, that second clip of Sua dancing made me choke on a potato. Yeah I learned my lesson to not eat while watching DC (cause I might die)

You seem to recognize everyone fine, except you keep thinking Siyeon is Sua.

You mixed them up quite a few times 44:35 at the end you got Gahyeon and Yoonhyeon mixed up Gahyeon had the blue 2 piece, Yoonhyeon plaid 2 piece.
Also most people think Handong and Yoonhyeon look alike and Sua and Siyeon look alike, you got Sua and Siyeon mixed up a few times. Siyeon's face is rounder than Sua's and Sua's noise is more pointer. Sua's nose is very pointy which is what helped me not confuse the 2 when i was learning dreamcatcher
Most of the times you said SuA, including any shade of blue hair, was Siyeon. Don't worry it's a rite of passage for all Insomnias. SuA's nose bridge is higher and longer like a bird (her animal in the group) and Siyeon has a JAWLINE FORGED BY THE GODS. czcams.com/video/PEKkdIT8JPM/video.html Her cheek bones too if you can't see the jaw well. It's the main way she's striking in a way that doesn't remind you of anyone it's only her thing. Yoohyeon's name 유현 is two Ys yoo-hyawn, same ending as Gahyeon. SuA's choreography is powerful, spicy, and touchy. Red Sun is a great reaction and watch SuA, JiU, Yoohyeon's Taki Taki dance cover after it.
I've seen this written a lot and I believe it 100% for all new Somnias. JiU looks like Yoohyeon, Yoohyeon looks like Handong, Handong doesn't look like JiU.
