- New steering wheel with no airbag light! The amazing interior transformation continues. In this video I’ll show you how to remove the Fiat Barchetta steering wheel and fit a Nardi steering wheel. The original Fiat Barchetta steering wheel and airbag are carefully removed and replaced with a handmade Nardi wooden steering wheel.
I'll also show you how to stop the airbag warning light from coming on

I knew you would install that '60s style steering wheel and i am amazed how you got away with the airbag issue. It's all personal preference and taste but as an industrial designer myself it was hard to watch you turning that 90s classic into a retro '60s style interior. It was all designed to fit together, door-handle, steering wheel, dash, mirrors, seats, headlights.... for me the Barchetta is one very rare case of a very good designed and well proportioned car right from the start.
However - you enjoy working on that beauty and everything can be turned back to original once desired. 😀👍
Thanks for your comments I know the changes won't be to everyone's taste but the good thing is none of the alterations are permanent and can easily be taken back to the original.👍
Well that steering wheel is a work of art.it doesn't really convince me that it suits to the rest of the interior but I can see that you are happy with it and that's the point. We'll done👏
Yes, it's extremely well made very high quality. Thanks for your comments
Was waiting for the last bep, beeeep!
It beeped eventually! I would have uploaded the video earlier but the horn problem delayed everything so wanted to show the fix in the video. I was expecting the airbag to be a problem not the horn!
@@pauliecabs The problem is in the hub - not in the horn button. There should be an electrical connection between the steering column and the body of the hub into which the horn enters. Then the rod in the horn housing touches the mass of the car and only one plug with "+" is enough. I have a hub entirely made of aluminum. The horn housing is in contact with the hub and only one "+" wire is needed. No problems.
@@g.w.7411 Thanks for the comment. I read something about this but couldn't find anything on mine. Will investigate further!
@@pauliecabs
I think the problem is in the rubber (plastic?) cover of the hub. It isolates the silver ring (which houses the horn) from the main body of the hub. Therefore, there is no contact with the mass.
Optionally, the hub body is covered with a non-conductive layer.
@@g.w.7411 Ok will try with the rubber in a different position as well. Also, the instructions show the horn button with 2 connectors but there's only 1. Seems to be a common problem! Thanks for taking the time to answer. Will let you know how I get on
i cant do that here.
if i crash the insurance will not cover me.
and the car will not pass the anual inspection
I know. Some countries and regions are more strict than others
Is the wheel adjustable. Can it move up or down?
I can adjust mine. I think you can do it on all Barchettas. There's a lever on the steering column
J'adore :) Avez vous la référence du moyeu adaptable ? Merci
Merçi Monsieur! I used the Nardi hub. I think this is the part reference 4325.00.1426 E. Make sure you watch the second video as it shows how to fix the horn problem. It's such a simple fix. Thanks for watching, don't forget to like and subscribe!
Hi 👋, can you please give me a link where i can by same wheel, thanks 🙏
I bought it from Driftworks and got it shipped from the UK. I don't know if they still sell them. You could try contacting Nardi directly.
price?
It was a gift from Mrs Pauliecabs!
Beato te, mia moglie mi regala solo t-shirt 🤣🤣🤣
Hello, where did you order the adapter, was it included? Thanks 😊
The hub and wheel come separately. The hub is Nardi as well. I got them both from Driftworks in the UK. Also, another video coming soon including more info on the horn button.
what is the steering wheel size?
It's 36cm
Non c'entra un c**** quel volante sulla barchetta
Thanks for watching anyway.😀
I am confused on why you didn't just use the Vinyl wood wrap on your previous steering wheel and save cost of buying a new one.
You can't beat the feel of real wood
