After all the videos of thor hanging out with strongmen and CZcamsrs it’s pretty obvious how much he loves Martins and how well they get along. It’s not acting or a pretty face it seems really genuine.
And he seemed to like Larry wheels
I think the admiration goes both ways they both find each other great competitors and they are genuinely good guys.
Martins doesn't take himself too seriously and I don't Thor does either. A kind of a humility resonates
@@tmoney0212 Yeah I think he saw immense potential in Larry, kind of like a young version of himself. He probably wanted to give him all the help he could and I think at one point he might even have referred to Larry as being like a brother to him when they were moving into the new gym
part of this is probably because Martin's first visit helped bought a lot of attention to Thor's channel. And Romark was the one that showed Thor how to monetize his channel. I won't be surprised if Romark is helping Thor's channel behind the scene

Not really because then it's a monster movie. He comes stomping into town, crushing huts and nuts along the way. The opposing army breaks out the trebuchets and starts firing at him and then he roars, burning the lot in his nuclear fire breath...actually that would be awesome! Yes he should be in anything made about Vikings.

And correct me if I am wrong, but Eddie prepped the whole year for that one lift, on the day Eddie lifted the 500kg that was the only event he took part in? Thors 501kg attempt was in competition with a whole lot of other events.

We need to have Runar, Romark, and Tom compete in various challenges to determine the best cameraman in the strength community.
Jake Stanley, Runar is the only one worth watching compete, the other two especially Tom aren't worth the time. They were non-trainers before they hooked up with the real athletes they film.
Runar easy. They are all strong compared to others but Runar is a beast.

He just did his first powerlifting competition and pulled:
237 kg deadlift
175 kg squat
115 kg bench press
I think it will definitely be a goof competition between the three of them

Thor and martins have such a cute relationship. If anyone watched the WSM 2019 Thor at the end gave martins a hug to congratulate him on winning first place. They compete against each other but remain friends at the end.
Tbh it's sad how Eddie and Brian were so hostile against Hafthor, they could've been good friends if they weren't that stubborn and didn't take competition so seriously.

mtcuppers Thor behaved quite badly during Eddies WSM win, and I suspect that this cemented a negative opinion about Thor. I don’t think that fixed until Eddie stopped competing. I’ve heard Thor can be quite rude from another person as well: all that said, human beings don’t always get along and they do say don’t meet your heroes. I am prepared to say that Thor is probably a great guy and so is Eddie and Shaw. I feel I like Martins but maybe he’d become a Bad experience as well?

Martins is absolutely right. You get way more out of a suit than an elephant bar. Thors doesn’t bend much more than a DL bar anyways, also he pulled 1000 for a double on calibrated plates too.
But the equipped deadlift WR is lower than the raw
I didn't even notice that it was calibrated plates, he would take the 500 deadlift for sure if it wasn't the 4th event imo

@@hg_10sm68 Even if that was true, that's still 2/3. But I'm not sure it is. In WSM 2017 Eddie squatted 320 kg for 15 reps while Thor "only" got 12. Both went to failure, by the way. I don't think there's any video of Eddie doing a 1RM squat, but there's a few of him squatting for reps. He did 345 kg for 8 reps, which would estimate a 1RM at about 430 - slightly less than Thor. But that was without a belt, without knee wraps and with an 8 foot wobbly bar. I don't really care who's stronger, to be honest, I'm just saying: Eddie seems stronger in the static lifts. It's sad that he retired. But I hope Thor will beat all his record because record breaking feats are awesome no matter who ends up with the record.
It isnt about which lift will be more impressive as both guys are amazing strongmen but what I hate about Eddie is that he tries to discredit thors deadlift before he has even attempted it

I really like Eddie Hall and Hafthor but I dont understand this "beef" that they're fans are having with pulled or can pull more . Just stop and appreciate that Eddie lifted that crazy weight and now that Hafthor will have the strength to do it too

Stop seeing everything as an attack on Eddie. No one is attacking Eddie. Everyone is just excited by someone getting close to what he has done. Eddie's journey was amazing, but so is also Thor's

@@shahta8552 in 2016 eddie had the 500 kg in goal but didn't change his training for it, also eddie was never training with an elephant bar because his absolute goal was to win wsm and not the arnold classic
@A.A.Ron Davis those are opinions and its part of sharing them and free speech. Maybe some of them are because of some shit reasons and maybe they are a bit mean , but like u said :500 kg is 500 kg. A deadlift with a suit with a not mutch bending bar is a different lift than a more bending (wobbling!) bar deadlift. But now i share my thoughts: Eddies Bar bends to . its not stiff so may 2 inch bend + suit that helps may not mutch for the whole drive but for the first inches (around 20- 30 pounds ) . on elephantbar u have may 5 inch of bend but its wobbling and you have not that mutch tightness because of a raw lift ( besides straps).
Normaly for me a more raw lift is more worth than a equipped one.
It's great seeing some of the world strongest men are actually also buddies, friendly to each other, not just rivals.

Mike I highly doubt he couldn’t do it. Do you realize that Thor is 6”9? Yes an elephant bar gives higher starting position but the way Eddie manipulated figure 8 straps had a similar effect

When u put huge amounts of weight on u change the way u sleep"sleeping on you're arms and shoulders" is very common,so u wake up sore/numb joints...try to sleep on you're back all night which will help.
@A.A.Ron Davis sleeping on back can be very difficult with breathing probems and neck position, tongue, also depending on how big you butt is and what is the natural shape of your lumbar spine, that region can be uncomfortable, knees can feel like are bending backwards, etc. one sleeping position is not suited for everyone
@A.A.Ron Davis Studies have showed that sleeping on your back is a big factor in snoring. And others have showed that kids that snore more often perform worse in school (thought to be because of the interrupted sleep caused by the snoring). Of course if you don't snore sleeping on you back pose no issue, but it's not for everyone. It also seem in tribal cultures people much more commonly sleep on their sides on slightly harder surfaces using their arm to support their head and neck.
Sleeping on your back is not the safest and smartest way to sleep. A general practitioner will usually advise people to sleep on either of their sides as opposed to face down or on your back. It promotes healthy breathing the very best.

@14:45 I love how hard they are trying to create a rivalry between Eddie and Thor. People have been trying this for a few years now including Eddie and Thor themselves. The problem is people love both these guys and want to see both do well. To have a real blood feud rival, one party has to be disliked. No one can dislike Eddie, Thor, Brian, or Martin. I do appreciate how they keep trying to stoke that fire.
