Necromancer (caster specs) Class Overview

Hey everyone - Obelisk here.
I've decided to start a video series discussing various DAoC classes.
This is the Necromancer (caster specs) class overview video.
I want to touch on their popular specs, abilities, RA choices, things you want in template, and general strategy in solo and group scenarios.
I'm doing all these videos in one unedited, unscripted take. So please excuse the rambling.
If you have any questions, suggestions, tips, or class requests, please let me know. Also, if you want me to make a video on things other than classes, give me some suggestions.

I used to main a necro back in 2008, ran around with a RR 10+ necro whooping people. I downloaded today to come back and realized my loved character was completely remade... Sad day.

Hey, completely unrelated to necromancer but I was watching your older minstrel video and was wondering if you could give me the rundown on how you setup your bars, q binds, and any applicable macros. The minstrel has many abilities and struggling to manage them at the moment. Also thanks a lot your videos are top notch.

I actually just made a video detailing my keyboard setup and what Qbinds that opens up for me (also setting up my bards quickbars/qbinds in the process). I also did a video talking about Autohotkey (a macroing program).

As far as setting up a minstrels Qbinds, it depends on your particular setup. But when looking at mine, I can give you a quick overview. To start off, I have AHK double bind any spell (such as flute mezz) that requires my that my harp is equipped. So when I press D for example, it equips my harp and also mezzes. My melee styles all equip my weapon before using the style. How to setup AHK to do that is in the above video.
Looking at particular binds:
My anytime style, side snare, and back snare are Q, W, and E respectively
My flute mez is D
Demez (and CL disase - double bound) is Z
Pulsing charm is R
Target pet and release pet are both bound on my mouse
Pet attack/passive are S and X
Aoe mez is F1
my DDs, instant stun, and confuse are 1,2,3,4
Rank 5 is 5
Purge is C
Other RAs and MLs are on my mouse
My sounds (speed, power, health, ablative) are ctrl+q,w,e,r
Cresendo is on Alt+1
You can put the new songs (magic resists, range, celerity) on Shift+q,w,e or F keys
Magic resist cloak charge is shift+d
Other item charge are probably ctrl+mouse buttons

You sir are a beast. I run the same keyboard as you I think (Corsair K95)? Is it possible to setup the hotkeys/macros without using AHK? Thanks again

Yeah, if you go into your Corsair software, there's an "Actions" tab on the left. Just hit the '+' and it will create a new macro. Then just record the two actions you want sent in the particular order. I would uncheck 'Delays' unless you feel you need a delay (and I'd recommend adding a delay later with the "add delay between events" button and entering however many milliseconds you see fit). You can rename that new macro then just click whatever key you want it mapped to on the keyboard graphic on the right.
If you have different macro sets for different classes, I believe you can create a lot of Profiles within that software. So you could have a "Minstrel" profile, a "Paladin" profile, and a "Sorc" profile all with different macros.

Hey Rhil, So you focus on arcane siphon pieces and forgo resists or capping out intel/dex?

I definitely try to cap everything. Templates are pretty easy now days, so you should be able to get 10-20 % siphon while getting high Dex/int/resists
