      @andy morris an album made in 1981 isn't exactly "following" the 80s.
      And I would say an album that inspires Michael Jackson to his greatest work is pretty much "leading".

    • @celt67
      @celt67 Před 4 lety +6

      @andy morris Whilst nobody could argue with you it's by far Queens worst album, I cannot agree that they were 'rehashing 80's trends'. When this was in production, bands such as Adam And The Ants, Bucks Fizz, Shakin' Stevens, Human League and The Police were dominating the charts. I WILL agree that Freddie had spent too much time in gay clubs listening to the underground music of the time and wanted it brought to a very reluctant band. The album was so divisive within the group that when they had 1983 off, there was serious doubts as to whether or not they'd ever get back together again ...ever. An interesting side-note is that almost all of the main tracks of 'The Works'....Radio Gaga, I Want To Break Free...etc...were written in 1982 before the break...and when the band resumed in 1984, theyd forgotten most of the tracks they'd written themselves, and had to have them played back to them by session musicians who'd remembered them.

      @andy morris shut up andy we all have different opinions and if other people enjoyed this album let them enjoy it, the hell. i do like it as well and it doesn't matter that it wasn't in "queen style", they've always been a versatile band with songs that went from hard rock to ballads to more and this album just proves that, which doesn't absolutely make it a negative thing at all. if you don't like this album that's good but let people enjoy things smh

      @rodneymcintosh1484 Před 4 lety +3

      @Lee Lemony but John didn't particularly like Hot Space either! He was totally absent on this song (with Brian playing synth bass). He was also absent on Action This Day, with Roger playing bass. On Staying Power and Body Language, the bass parts were played by Freddie and John just played rhythm guitar. John only contributed one song on the album, while also sharing a co-credit with Freddie on Cool Cat. It's a misconception that John was a fan of this album and enjoyed making it just because of his "funk" influence.

    Hot space reminds me of Chris Cornell's Scream in that they sit differently to the artists catalogue and yet are at the very high end of that genre.. absolute favourite Queen album

    It should be performed live. Heavier, more improvised. Great song!

    Any song that makes me tap my foot or bop my head up and down cannot be bad! I never judge a song by the first time i hear it - there are a number of Queen songs from their earlier albums that i was kinda like "eh" about until i heard them a few times like Good Ole Fashioned Lover Boy and Drowse. But now i love them. Queen had such a unique style that was unmatched by another other band i've ever heard and i love that they tried new things because being the same is just boring, darling! :)

    Amo esta canción! Es de mis favoritas de Hot Space, el álbum más inusual pero más disco y funk de Queen, Dios Salve A La Reina! lml
