I often get requests to do booking redemptions to specific countries, and among one of the top requested countries is Korea. In this video, I'll walk you through how I maximize my points to book business-class flights to Korea.

I knew about booking Korean Air award availability through Virgin Atlantic, but wow, Alaska Air is a new one for me! Bilt just announced Alaska Air as their new transfer partner, so I'm excited to give this a try and redeem my points there in the future!
Thanks to your previous Asiana video, I was able to book a business class flight to Korea at the end of this year! It will be my first long-haul business class seat, and I'm super excited 😊
Love the video as usual Max!
good tips on the seats.aero Route function to find the flights for Korea.
I actually used airalo on my trip to Japan and plan on using it again this winter on my trip to Korea
Glad you like using Airalo!
Good video. I just flew back on Korean Air from Seoul to DFW last month nonstop for 37,500 points in economy via Alaska Air. I would rather have quantity of flights versus quality flights. I've been to central Asia twice already this year and that eats up a lot of points.
Excited to try booking my DFW to ICN flight!
You should do a live someday. You’d crush the super thanks
Super helpful. Do you know how often new seats come out for business class flights from the east cost (NYC)? Or is it best to check daily.
That’s crazy! I’m actually booking a flight with family of 4 LAS to BKK with Korean Air, in June. but as you know 3 award seats plus an infant no where to be found 😅 so I just book with cash straight from Delta. Then Air Asia from BKK to VTE
4 seats up front is tough and even tougher if you want to fly Korean Air 😬
Thank you! Great tutorial as always. I only see 1 business award ticket per flight. Is it impossible to find 2 tickets outside Korean Air?
we just booked our trip out of ORD to ICN for 74k points two days ago via Virgin Atlantic
Virgin joining sky team was game changer for me!
37k virgin point to Korea from east coast or 100k for business if you can be flexible!
Hi Max, do you have any tips to use Chase credit card points to book direct flights to China mainland?
Thanks for the video. Wached the video linked about booking through V.A. but there is only the other option as Delta. Can you make a video how to book Korean air flights through V.A?
Can you transfer Amex points 1:1 to Alaska Airline as well?
Please.make a video from usa to India ( New Delhi / Mumbai ) and vice versa . Best bang for the points ( doesn't matter if it's economy / premium economy or business ) ...great and superb videos.

It's a bit niche, but any tips for booking to/inside mainland china? Even though many Chinese airlines are in these alliances I have had a hard time finding any good deals
Very niche but similar strategies applies. You’ll likely be looking for trans pacific flights from the U.S. connecting in TPE/SIN/TYO/ICN then onto PVG or PEK. You can book through award programs like Aeroplan for 75k ish points one way in business class. You need to be looking into 2025 if you want to increase your chances of finding award availability for business class
@@MaxMilesPoints Anything you know from LAX to CAN (Guangzhou) through Southern Airlines that can be booked via points? I haven't found successfully an angle to book it with points. I think a friend said Delta but I didn't even find paid flights through Delta
Would you be able to do one for Vietnam business class? Think EVA but tricky without Citi cards
Book with VS
Here's a quick list of options:
China Airlines booked via Flying Blue US-TPE-SGN
Singapore Airlines booked via Aeroplan US-SIN-SGN
EVA booked via Aeroplan or LifeMiles US-TPE-SGN
Asiana booked via Aeroplan or LifeMiles US-ICN-SGN
Qatar Airways booked via Qatar Airways US-DOH-SGN
Air France booked via Flying Blue US-CDG-SGN
ANA booked via ANA USA-TYO-SGN (very difficult to book)
JAL booked via British Airways or Cathay Pacific USA-TYO-SGN (very difficult to book)
There are a lot of options but for business class you won't find a lot of award availability. Pick the option that has the award availability that matches your travel dates.
Thank you! Will look into these
Can we also use AA website to search for the Korean Air award availability?
I was horrified to see the lack of privacy in their A380 business class upstairs.
Can the Virgin Atlantic points work for NYC to Seoul as well?
Yes if there’s award availability
do points expire when you transfer over to virgin?
Virgin Points don’t expire
Um... Skypass card
