Stoeger is a bussiness partner of Beretta. I just want you guys to know that your'e buying a Beretta that looks like a Glock with a different name for 299$. That's really cheap for a gun like that tbh. I'm using the STR9-SC model. Great gun, no issues. I love it.

Another great video. I have over 1000 rounds through mine and it’s running great. I have 4 magazines and I get 15 rounds into each one. I sent it back to Stoeger because my mags didn’t drop freely. They fixed it quickly, excellent customer service.

Ordered mine from Buds, $292 delivered!
If I need to, I will make the fix on the mag problem. Release issues appear to be due to material in the magazine well, not the mag itself. The problems to load the mag are worked out by being left loaded, and lots of use to wear them in. No problem there either, I am going to shoot the heck out of it.
Ejection I think will be solved by leaving it locked back until I go to the range next time. I understand the recoil spring is a bit over-strength initially. Some shootin should help as well.
    Great review! Thanks

Bought one of these from my local dealer. Walked out with an extra mag for $269. Found out about the mag issues later, however I've had no problems with either mag on mine. At first, yeah, loading got a little stiff around the 4th or 5th round but then all smooth to the 15th. I left both mags fully loaded for about a week as someone recommended and sure enough, no problem getting all 15 in smoothly. The trigger is not that bad and I've gotten used to it. Very predictable reset and follow up shots. No misfeeds or failure to eject as some have noted. I would recommend it. Great video!

@@markedman3990 it just sounded like you racked the pistol to loosen the mag springs..... had to check.
I recently bought a few 1911 magazines at a yard sale, they were in sad shape, but all of them cleaned up nicely and now work fine.
I had to oil the inside and use a cleaning rod to function the springs and follower several times but it worked.
I thought about how this might help with these magazines but the Stoeger magazine follower is plastic not metal so you might damage them with the wrong tool.

I just purchased mine from a local Sportsman's Warehouse then immediately went to a local range.
I only had time to put 180 rounds through it, but there were no issues at all, with the gun itself or the magazine (I got the cheap version). The magazine took the rounds flawlessly and fed them the same, although it did get a little harder to load after 4 or 5 rounds. That backstrap is something else, isn't it?
The only thing I would like to see on the STR-9 is small textured panels that help you locate your thumb on the frame for a thumbs forward grip.
9mm ammo is really tough to find here in Michigan, so I'm looking for other sources, but I am so looking forward to shooting this blaster more frequently.
    Cheers, eh.

Congrats. I just picked one up also and have yet to take it to the range. What ammo did you use? I've heard that it's had some FTE issues in the past and I'm a bit worried because it has a really stiff recoil spring. Cleaned and lubed and I've been working the slide to help loosen it up. Also heard the mag would stick for some, but mine drops out no problem. My mag loads fine for me too.

It seems like people's biggest complaint is due to lack of breaking in as well as overall inexperience with firearms, which is understandable considering this seems to be a lot of people's first firearm. My honest opinion would be to run at minimum 300 rounds through any firearms you intend to use for self defense before you consider them GTG also it helps if you use full power loads during the brake in period.

@@gunsammodrones I assume they drop free now but as far as the difficulty to load, I'll chalk that up to being brand new. Neither of those are what bothered me. It's the fact that there are literally four of them in existence in the country at this moment and they're selling anywhere from $50 to $80 .... I would consider the issue resolved when I can buy 10 or 15 of them on midway for $20/$30 a pop whenever I needed them. I just bought one but got delayed as usual so I'll get to test it out in a few days.

Well, both are great choices and both made in Turkey so they are made well... The Canik is a bigger gun overall but the Stoeger has a more comfortable familiar feel to it to me...The Stoeger is a better deal because it comes with 3 mags... Personally, Id probably choose the Stoeger despite their crappy magazines...

That's what i'm waiting on......Str-9c, Stoeger just started taking orders from firearm dealers and production was in motion but the Wuhan-virus put a monkey wrench in the process. What I've found out from dealers is late June or July or even August when we can expect the dealers to have them in stock. Once i get one in hand and if it feels good with a nice price......i will get it for sure and do a unboxing review. 👍

Just sayin. *shrugs*

I guess you won't be purchasing an AK47 any time soon. LOL If you can find a quality weapon and you can get cheap mags, getting the mags to work is usually nothing that a dremel and lube can't fix. I bought a shitpile of "bad" croate mags for my AK's for a hair over $5 a pop. A little quality time with the dremel, a thorough cleaning, and some lube and all but one work perfectly. buy 30, save $10 a mag and throw one mag away. dude... not everything has to behave like a $1500 wilson combat that's going to jam all the time anyway. some of us don't need a safe queen. just something that always goes bang and hits the target and never breaks.
