- The first look at the new content and features that are going to debut in Update 40 was streamed on Bethesda’s Twitch channel the other day. This stream provided players with a preview of features such as the new grand master crafting stations, the jewelry crafting rebalance changes, the new group finder tool, and the new endless PvE arena: The Endless Archive, among other things.

This is very small compared to the other changes, but i really love that theyre finally changing towns look with the different events :D
I really like that little detail too! I hope it is something that we will continue to see with these kinds of seasonal events in-game, such as the new life festival!
@@Arttea yeah! Would be really cool to explore how each town decorates/celebrates. If they really are invested in doing so, you could even make it diverse to showcase how each culture has a different theme/traditions for celebrating that event.

Sounds like a really great mini update! This whole year feels like Zos have finally started listening to the player base. I’m hoping they keep adding both what we want and need next year
I'm really stoked for the attainable stations. It'll be fun to see how different guilds decorate their guild hall. You can show off the personality/vibes of the community more.
Same!! I knew that I would never own a home with all of the attunable stations in it because I simply did not want to sacrifice something like 300 furnishing slots to place all of them. I'd rather use those 300 slots to make my home look even nicer! But now that I can effectively own all of the crafting stations and access them all by only sacrificing 4 furnishing slots?? I am definitely going to get them now Lmao now I know what I'll be spending all of my gold on for the next little while
@@Artteahaha same! I'm not a guild master and it would take a while to collect them all but I could see myself putting in some of the useful craftable sets in my home. Aka, orders wrath, daedric trickery, heartland conqueror etc.

It all sounds great, but my favorite is the jewelry revamp, by FAR. I play lots of toons with a variety of builds, so removing jewelry grains is a huge relief. I'm very interested in the class sets, as well. Great video 😊
This really made me happy too! Gold jewelry crafting on pc servers was breaking me.

Endless archive is definitely a reason to return to the game for sure and the new grouping feature (If it works) will be a much needed addition 😅

As someone who doesn't RP at all really, I would be super excited to see RP or ERP zergs in towns in ESO. Whatever the vibe I wish that there was something to flesh out the empty cities with at most a couple players running from one objective to another through them

I checked out the town decorations for witches on PTS when it was live a few weeks ago and it was a really welcome improvement. Hoping they keep that going

Gotta say, it's a great update. Super excited, particularly for the seasonal decorations. I remember years ago playing fallout and they would have decorations on specific days, it made the world feel even more real :) Great breakdown as always Arttea and super cool that they showcased screencaps from you :) Totally deserved!

craglorn has already been established within the realm space as a place for gathering with the intent of finding a group. across several mmos ive noticed that though these things are initially created when players accumulate due to certain processes i.e. farming, lfg, event, etc. they remain the case despite the changes to meta progression. i think you will see less in craglorn but i think you will still see people in craglorn as it remains in it of itself a place at which people gathered. for example when i was younger we would gather at the community center at the park for free food and sodas, it caused everyone in the area aged 5-17 to gather at the park for food. one day the community center stopped doing it due to budget cuts and some people stopped coming to the park everyday after school, but the majority of us kept showing up to the park because we hung out there anyways. i think the traders will take a hit but nothing to drastic, at least until another location proves itself to be a more interesting gathering point and trader locale

Good changes overall and very welcome after the somewhat meh u39. I'm still debating whether to renew my sub, playing with out eso+ has been painful NGL!
It will be interesting to see how much ingame earnable rewards they will add in u40. (hopefully a upward trend!) During the previews they made it sound like they wanted to make a class set for every spec, so that would be 3 specs per class. It's definitely something new, and I hope the class sets will open up more variation in playstyles.
It was nice to see the devs being so excited and proud about their work. The decision to change up the chapter and DLC releases might actually start a positive trend upwards. I wish them the best. I don't always like the company, but I like the devs overall. They started the stream off taking a moment to show how crazy ESO's update schedule is, and I agree! Over the years they did a lot. Even if we didn't always agree on the specific changes.
To close off my comment I would like to make one observation about the Twitch chat. ;)
ZOS seems open to change, but also is content to stay the same. The amount of deleted comments about twitch users bringing up anything related to crown gifting was very much old school ZOS.

First, thank you SO much for this video! My ADHD is terrible, and I feel like this was clear enought that I understood the update. Questions: If my guild has almost 500 people and a whole bunch of us want to us the Grand Master Craft stations, will it be too crowded? (This is unlikely, I imagine.) Do you know if we have to recollect the 70 or sets? Thank you again! :)
I am happy to hear that the video was helpful! I don’t think you should run into any issues if you wish to use a grand master crafting station at the same time as a bunch of other guildies. I imagine it would just look the way crafting stations in popular writ cities look - full of players, but still functional! If you already own attainable stations, you can feed those existing ones into the new GMC stations, so there won’t be a need to buy all of the attunables all over again. If you don’t already own any attunables, however, then you will have to purchase some to be able to feed them into the new stations.

Would love to see a guest book for houses, to leave comments in etc or house warming gifts, I have always asked but never been heard thou most who i bring it up with say it's a great idea.
Does it mean that i need to play the endless archives in every class to ba able to get all class sets? Can't i get everything with only one class?
i'm a little confused about the jewelry changes in regards to my current materials.. will it matter if i mass refine now or wait to refine? should i convert grains to platings now or wait?
Because of the removal of grains in U40, and the proposed exchange rate (1:1 for U39grains:U40platings, and then 1:10 for U39platings:U40platings), it will not matter if you choose to refine your materials or keep them as they are.
If you were to refine some dust now, you have a chance to receive some grains. A singular grain now, in Update 30, will turn into a full plating in Update 40. If you *wait* to refine until Update 40, you will have a chance to receive platings, which are the equivalent of grains now because of the conversion that is going to happen. So it doesn't matter what you choose to do with that unrefined dust.
I hope that makes sense; it is a little confusing for me too at times haha
The Grandmaster crafting stations seem like a good solution, although I have a couple of concerns. Firstly, I'm guessing they won't work with Lazy Writ mods straight away and I'm not sure how long it will be until they do, assuming there are no issues, which mean they can't work together. Secondly, depending how the interface is setup, it may take a while to find the set you want to craft, which will be less of an issue if it's for writs and the Lazy Writ mod works with it. Personally, I have a dedicated house with all my set tables and plenty of space and housing slots for further expansion, so I doubt I will be switching to the Grandmaster stations straight away until any issues have been resolved.
Arttea, but how do we profit from the jewelry changes?
I think Alikir and ads for BRP and Spellscar runs might die down a bit also as Endless archive seems like it'll be a better way to power level
Honestly as a "sweaty endgamer" im quite excited about this update. It Changes things that were tedious for years, and now we also finally get some content again. I just hope its not too easy. I love roguelikes

Thank god Group/Party Finder is being added. Sure it adds community when you go into let’s say craglotn and see players recruiting in chat. But I feel as the group finder is going to make recruiting so much more easier. Plus it’ll allow the one hosting to continue playing rather than staying in Craglorj recruiting lol
The jewelry revamp… I’m curious to see how it’ll affect the traders because now the chromium grains are SURELY to go up in price. Because if they do as they say- if you have 200 chrome grains, you’ll get 200 of the plating!?!? Like BRUH I’m about to go on a shopping spree!! Haha

I'm really looking forward to all of these things, and I think this is going to pair nicely with some of those weekly and daily endeavors that may be too difficult to do solo, or that typically take place in groups (I'm looking at you Complete 7 Dungeons!). However, I don't think Craglorn will become a ghost town because there's going to be people creating a group and then being snobbish about who they will let in, and there will still be a lot of players who have to call out lfg to find groups less picky. Also, everyone has different needs, and there may not be a group fitting the need at the moment, so there will still be a lot of lfg and lfm going on.

I’m going to go from having barely any platings, to having more of them than anything else when u40 hits 😆 I’m not complaining though. Most of my characters are running purple jewellery, so it’ll be nice to finally have maxed out builds on all of them!

I’ve had such bad luck finding wb daily groups that I’ve gotten decent at soloing them. So I feel the pain 😂
The game is coming out on console Nov 14th and it has been out on PC for a while now! Nothing happens to your existing crafting stations, but you may feed them into the GMCs.

I believe this is a potential transformation that can be accessed in the Endless Archive after a number of visions or verses are collected, although I am not certain. It looks very similar to the werewolf behemoth transformation that can be temporarily accessed in the Stone Garden dungeon! 🤔

I'm also VERY excited for the free home, as I didn't start playing till 2021, and thusly had to spend cold hard crowns on my Psijic Villa and Antiquarian's Gallery 🥲
Oh man I feel so bad for anyone that had to spend their hard-earned gold or crowns on those homes that were free for those of us that were playing a while ago. 😅 But I'm super excited to see that peeps will be able to earn a new home soon enough!!
And yesss I feel the same way about the group finder!! Zone chats used to be full of people spamming world boss groups ("Q for Queen of the reef quest share", "x up to join WB daily quest share group!!") and now I can not even get a single SOUL to join me for a world boss daily quest. Really hoping the new group finder will be able to change that reality.

I used to change traits of purple jewelry for 50 transmute stones so many times, instead recreating it for 25 when i have whole set collected, just to save some purple plating, no more now.
I am just coming back after a long break....and most of the playing I did was drunk...hence the "The Sober Heathen." I don't necessarily want to start at 1 again....any leads on how I can catch back up...or rather....get an idea of what to do? I feel completely lost... I am asking on this video because I enjoyed it and the comments seemed like you folks are not assholes :)
I just hope this saves the game. No one I know plays ESO anymore and the numbers drop to where most of the time, zones are ghost zones even Craglorn doesn't have many people anymore, would love to see this bring more players or veterans back in. Recently uninstalled because I felt no one was playing so I was burnt out of being alone not finding anyone haha.
Hmm sounds like the jewelry is going to be harder to make.8 chromium platings instead of 4 to make a gold ring or necklace. Is this correct or am I just not understanding this?
Jewelry should actually be easier to make, as the entire system is being rebalanced to function much like all of the other crafting skill lines. Gold platings will be dropping as frequently as other gold tempers, and our existing platings and grains will all be converted in accordance with the ratios that were mentioned in the video.
Basically, currently u need the equivalent of 40 gold plates to gold out a piece. 4 plates, made of 10 grains each, with an equivalent rarity to gold mats for other crafting disciplines. After update, drips to 8 gold mats needed :)

I can sympethize with that. The lackluster combat (especially compared to guild wars 2) is definitely one of the games weakest bits.
Yea I'm curious what's lackluster about the combat - Dungeons? Trials? Overland? PVP?
@@alexisotalo2351 Well...pvp in an mmo will always be lackluster imho. But it's more of core combat systems in my mind. It's not as mind numbingly boring as wow-clones, but it can't compare to the depth and smoothness of guild wars 2. Five abilities and an ultimate doesn't really feel like a lot to work with, and most of your abilities are usually just dedicated to applying buffs and debuffs while one or two abilities are for doing damage. So it just makes the combat loop feel very simple, uncomplicated, and boring. The games greatest strength in my opinion is the open maps, just running around exploring. The combat at that time I usually only end up using one or two abilities, and they're the damage abilities. Getting into dungeons and trials, I can't speak for dps as a forever tank, but the combat can be boiled down to keeping buffs and debuffs up and that's it. And there's also the fact that a lot of skills fulfill the same niche and end up being very samey, so it just boils down to which one is the best and using that or sacrificing dps. This also plays into the problem of a lack of class identity for the base four classes. If you end up only using one or two class abilities, you can swap out your class with any other and it won't make a difference. I'm sure I could go on, but this is already long enough and I don't feel like it. Hope that gives you a better idea of where I, at least, am coming from.
the new update sure is immerisve already. Anytime I look at current prices of jewelery mats on guild traders I can roleplay as a bitcoin trader

A lot of these changes sound like quality of life changes, and I'm all for it honestly. Many times I lose motivation to play because I can't find people to do activities, which makes the game feel dead. I'm hoping this group find will alleviate that issue. Also, @Arttea, as a world renowned economist for ESO, I need your expert opinion on whether i should stock up on grains expecting the platings post update will be more than the current grain price or will it be the other way around. I personally think platings post update will be less than grains currently are, but I would love to hear from you.
Edit: I just realized the market for purple and gold jewelry is dead after this update. I gotta sell all my gold and purple jewelry, that's worth something, now.
You're right about selling all of your valuable jewelry now, as jewelry prices will undoubtedly fall after these changes roll out and upgrading becomes a much more accessible endeavor for the player base. It also may be difficult to stock up on any jewelry materials at the moment, as players are listing them for ridiculous amounts of gold, despite how illogical it may seem, to capitalize off of the hysteria that this change promoted. Funnily enough, others are listing their chromium platings for very cheap, even though there will be a 1:10 conversion that is occurring, so it may be worth keeping an eye on those to buy up any that are priced relatively low. I believe that platings post-update will be worth around the same if not a little less than the current cost of their respective grains.

Why delete the blue jewelry writs???
Before these proposed jewelry changes, blue jewelry writs were very costly to craft and yielded very little vouchers in return. As a result, a lot of people viewed them as garbage, and would make the mistake of tossing them into my guild's guild bank (FYI: never toss garbage into trading guild banks lol), so myself and my officers would have to go and clean up guild bank space and delete many of those useless writs lol.
I don't know if this is the change that brings me back to the game. When I left, crafting was taking up all of my time. I was burnt out.
Might come back for this pve stuff. Sucks none of my friends play this but I always liked this game so may take a ff14 break for it.
Yeah the new PvE stuff looks pretty sweet honestly! None of my irl homies play ESO either, but I've made some good friends in ESO from joining guilds and other communities I'm looking forward to checking out the endless arena with some of them next patch

Damn, I really expected the Archive to be at least a 4 players thing. Was wishing for 12, guess I ain't touching it
77 crafted sets with Update 39 x 250 vouchers per attunable table = 77,000 Master Writ Vouchers to install all attuned crafted sets into 4 GMC's, plus the cost of the GMC's themselves.
Fortunately, if you already own attunable stations, you'll be able to go ahead and feed those into the new GMC stations But the rest of us suckas (like me ) are going to have to *spam* those master writs
I'm at zero attunables, due to access to a dozen fully equipped homes, but I'll want 4-6 sets for myself... already have the tables and vouchers :)
