- A look at the November 2023 version of the CQ Worldwide DX CW contest. Interesting are the fluttery signals later in the video; caused by a solar flare.

Ha!! I just got a 7610. I thought there was something wrong with the radio! Whew….it’s just the prop conditions. 😂

Brutal conditions for this contest!
Conditions were far from stellar, to be sure...but still possible to get something, as seen here. 73! de WX0V
They were good...only rough patch was Saturday afternoon as the A index peaked at 36 but settled down Sunday morning...EU, as always, was gud from Delaware...had a nice JA run long path on 20m Saturday

I must admit that openings DU-USA were longer and better than DU-Europe. Before CQWW there were days when I didn't copy any EU stations. 73 de DX8H
Although there apparently was a solar flare that affected Saturday (as seen here) conditions improved notably on Sunday, and, as you noted, a week ago was way worse. All in all, not hurtful bands. Thanks for your comment and 73! de WX0V

Oh I see - the needle has a funny jump to it on transmit in QSK, likely the same thing. Fun to listen to someone else's QSO and your interesting comments about the band...@@SuburbanDXing
@@donr2670 Yes, the needle does kinda look weird when it is in full QSK...also keep in mind it's a LCD facsimile of a real one, but it looks pretty good. 73! de WX0V

You worked my neighbor and mentor W5mx at ii9p. Bands sure sucked here. Just pounced mults mainly. Really no reason for anyone to call us in the states.
Indeed! I worked him on 10m and 80m. I have a Q with VK9XY on 15m unless the polar flutter got me, so that made the contest worth it to me...73! de WX0V
